Well based on previous advice... and sods law... things do go wrong, however I have drained mine several times and taken the bowl off for a clean with no probs. You're more likely to break the drain screw which is plastic, and need to take the bowl off to clean it out... 10mm spanner and double...
Hi and welcome to the forum... long time since I had a petrol to work with but... It could be a loose earth lead. that'd make it run rough and cause probs with c/locking etc...
He means, put it in the fuel tank!... thin it down a bit and it should work fine.. might smoke a bit though, and if the tank is dipped by VOSA could be in trouble for not using a duty paid (or bio) fuel.
Jetwashed underside, undid one end of steering damper to check if it needed replacing. It didn't :). crawled around underneath to check for any likely probs for MOT... Front inner wings showing daylight :(.
Did Ruby's swovel pin pre-load last weekend, found loads of shims in there, took a few out, spring balanced (6 - 7 kg) and much better now... didn't even take the calipers off!
OK that is mostly a valid point for Commercial Production as they buy fresh unused veg oil (known as SVO), however most of the 'Green Brigade' make theirs from Waste oil (which usually goes down the drain or to land fill) and only gives back the carbon that the plant (soya, rapeseed etc) took in...
Wanted one since I was too young to drive... when I was flush enough to buy one, it didn't seem to make good economics as I was driving up and down the country.
Had Ruby for 2.5 yrs now and can't imagine being without her!... 7 seats, big car comfort (I'm over 6ft), goes anywhere, carries...
Use Ruby for everything, Work, Play, crap to the tip, shifting furniture, carrying lots of people, learning to weld :rolleyes:, pulling tw*ts out of the ****e... then the Blackbird is for sunny days and euro trips!
You may stand a better chance if you agree not to put it back on the road and strip it for spares... Which is basically what would happen... it'd go to auction as a class A or B write off.. not to be returned to road use.
