It is always good practice to give your battery a good charge once a year, and check the electrolite level (if applicable) If you have flattened your battery in the past for any reason, your alternator will not be able to charge past the 50-60% mark, so its good to give it a helping hand...

I've been looking at hard top 110's, they seem to be the best, is going to cost quite a bit for kitting it out though, but don't think you can skimp on the important stuff like fuel, water and electrical systems.

I need to order a load of stuff from mudstuff, already fitted a dash thingy, good products.

Has the bulkhead been removed to get those in?

I know some just get you to sign a disclaimer when you enter the site to cover themselves. I go to avon dassett where as long as they get the money.....off you go :-)

My other vehicle (L200) gets covered by mitsi if you get it serviced at their dealers for £15 and lasts as long as the service interval, good service too. The Landie is covered with the insurance poliy (Adrian Flux) as it covers the off road use too :-)

I'm with Adrian Flux and have breakdown and off road use (including pay and play) which actually does work as a guy rolled his new 110 in the quarry where i go and had it rebuilt on the policy.

Right! Thats it!, i've had enough so i'm off on a long trip. Caught the fever and i want to go, so the hunt is on for a suitable landie and equipment (dont think my 90 is quite suitable) Planning on later 2008, so new year in South Africa. Might have a spare seat if someone wants to help pay for...

The thing i like about k&n filters are that they are easily cleaned, with a compressor and some light oil, so if you are doing the miles and depending on what you are using it for (wading etc) it can work out more economical than replacing standard filters.

I was thinking of this event also, i was going to take a trailer in case the worst happens, but it might be worth putting someones elses on the trailer and sharing fuel costs, that way we have a trailer for anyone one else too.

Can you comment on the fuel quality (diesel) and any problems with water in fuel? Is it worth fitting an extra fuel/separator filter? Cheers.

Hi all, Heard lots about the clutch slave cyl push rod going through the clutch arm on discos, is it the same for defenders? And is it worth doing the mod to strengthen it up?

Think i might have to do mine too, but will have a roll bar made to fit inside just in case the worst happens.

Hey all, Just fitted a new "mudstuff" console in the landy and want some extra gauges in it and in the blank on the instrument console. Where is the best place to get them as the ones i have seen around seem very expensive, i want to fit a clock, boost pressure and oil pressure. Any ideas?
