Is that all! I had my roof rack made specially and had extra mounts put in.
I have seen some good ones that even have supports that come down to the windscreen mount on the front and down to the lower tub on the rear, wonder if this ups the load rating?
Had something similar with my defender, i have a superchips upgrade which is the problem, smoke but no use of oil.
It is off to JE Engineering for a remap and intercooler, if you upgrade the fueling, it must be tested and matched to avoid problems like smoking, some of the cheaper upgrades only...
You won't regret a Howling moon, i love mine, makes the whole camping thing so comfy.
By the way, if you have any questions about how i set my gear up, just ask.
I will be posting a few reports soon of my adventure to Morocco.
I did, putting something together at the mo, having trouble uploading piccies and just found cant view any albums except when i click on the jobbies at the top of the home page.
Was quite a trip.
Just bought the new Mantec "Plastic Jobby" absolutly no good, doesn't seal against the body properly, mantec are looking into the problem but didn't expect bad quality from people like them. Lucky i tested the sealing before any wading!
Fitted a genuine LR one to the back of mine as i wanted one that goes through the body instead hooking on the gutter.
The kitted wanted me to use rivnuts, so they were binned and i made a plate for inside, out of left over 3mm chequer plate and some penny washers.
Believe it or not, my last set were from Craddocks as they did a good price, took me by surprise too.
Also Southam Tyres can be good if you need 6 and they keep very large stocks, but depends where you are i suppose.
BFG AT's all the way, always used them and got loads of milage and the toughness is great.
Had them in the desert and on the road and if you shop around the prices are on par with any others of the same quality, i find you just need to keep an eye on the pressures and sometimes rotate them to...
Craddocks do a nice steering guard with recovery points built in, they even give you 2 "D" rings with it, but not sure on their rating.
Two birds with one stone as it were :-)
£350.
Looked like a bargain as i have been keeping an eye out.
Went trying it out i found that all the hinges were bent :-(
But couple of hours in the garage and all good now.
See you all in two weeks, off to Morocco now :-)
I looked into all the options and tryed out loads with lots and lots of consideration......
Then a Howling Moon tent came up on ebay really cheap and i saw it about 10 minutes after the guy posted it so snapped up a bargain :-)
Off to Morocco tomorrow so will fit it tonight.
Cheers all.
