    Buying my 1st 90 what u think?>

Common rust worm places are rear crossmember, and all out riggers, especially the front ones. give them all a prod with a screwdriver. check the fuel tank isn't leaking, especially if it's been off road. Check difflock works (& light comes on) All above are resonably easy fixes for a competant...

    Insurance for Modified Landy's

Try Frank Pickles. 4x4 off road insurance - Frank Pickles Adrian Flux wanted £350+ for my Discovery (modified etc) Frank Pickles did the same insurance for £102. asked if it was modified, said "yes, and listed everything, he just said, "OK, just normal off road mods, no problem."

    kingpin remoulds

I bought a set for the 90, perform fine, both on road and off road, (a bit noisy on the motorway)

    Reverse light switch

put the g/box into reverse, with the ignition on, screw the switch in until the light just comes on, now screw it in half a turn more and lock up the nut. this should be correct.

Trying to fit rock slides, HELP!!!

If I remember correctly, the sills were only held with small 6mm setscrews, those could be the leftovers from previously fitted rocksliders. have a look at the back side of the chassis to see if there's a bolt and large washer "in the hole" this is how you bolt up the rock sliders that you'll fit.

90 swerves sometimes when i press cluth ??

    dodgy prop??

Yes you are being numb! It won't drive normally because the diff in the transfer box is working, so because there is no drive connection to the wheels from the front propshaft, the prop is just spinning. Now if diff lock is engaged, then the transfer box is locked up and is not allowed to...

    diff lock light

Check out this thread. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/diff-lock-light-59203.html Basically, the switch is in a corner of the gearbox casting and behind the difflock linkage, it's a bugger to get a spanner onto, you'll probably need to "modify" a spanner to tighten it up correctly...

    Green laning with mudplug.

Once I can rein in junior to the do technical stuff (i'm no good with these things!) I'll post a link to a video (once done!) As for camping, I would say yes, there's nice campsites near the river, with swimming & canoeing etc. the lanes are open to all.

    Green laning with mudplug.

Yes it was. I decided to go for it, as I no longer have one of those financial advisers (wife) telling me where I had/had not to spend 'our' money, so any holiday was now to suite me, and no-one else. Also there's no-one doing any 4x4 stuff longer than weekends in the UK, not even in Scotland...

    Green laning with mudplug.

Just come back from a weeks "green laning" in southern France, in Massif central, with Mudplug Mudplug's 4x4 Greenlaning tours and can say without a doubt that nothing in Wales will touch it! Some of the lanes we went down hadn't been used for over a year (there's 100's of them!) and once or...

    Choosing me nooo winch

Well aware of all that Ratty, but when you're up to the axle on one side, with a bloody good lean on, you set things up nice and straight to the anchor point, but as you start winching, it wants to slide deeper into the ****e to the right, not go straight, you've not much option. Even after we...

    Choosing me nooo winch

I've fitted one of those as well, I found that because the cable doesn't go back onto the drum nice and neat when you actually use it, it knocks the "control box" off. i cured this by lifting the cintrol box and mounting it on a different set of brackets. I've only used it a couple of times...

    Front end Recovery points

There are obviously 4 bolts in each, the 2 rear bolts are actually the 2 bolts that you already have to mount the bumper onto the chassis, these are 10mm dia, long bolts that go right through the front of the chassis into a "captive" nut underneath. The 2 front bolts are supplied, you need to...

    Front end Recovery points

You use the 2 front long bolts that fix the bumper to the chassis, and you drill the bumper to fit 2 other bolts. dead easy! I've used mine to drag a range rover out of a bog. No problem!

    Front end Recovery points

A towbal with some sort of re-enforcement is a good idea, as already said, bolt it in front of your N/S chassis member, it them makes it great for manovering trailers and caravans into position, as you can see down the side of them. Also you could get hold of some army type recovery D hitches...
