    Internal roll cage

I can't imagine a roll cage OUTSIDE the vehicle, and have never seen one. (Perhaps I'm using the wrong technical term.) Yes, a vehicle gets wrecked, but the purpose of the cage is to try to prevent injury or death.

    Steer Away

I am now overseas and needed the form when I went through LHR. As far as I know there are time restrictions on VAT refunds, but I don't have the information to hand.

Please see my post about Safari-Equip. I suggest you go elsewhere.

    Internal roll cage

I want to have built a good-quality internal roll cage for a LR Defender Td5 110 County Station Wagon. About how much should I pay? (Please indicate the country you're writing from.) Btw, it has to be custom-built as I'm overseas and it's not possible to buy one "off the peg", nor do I wish to...

    Steer Away

Anyone had any dealings with an outfit called Safari-Equip Co. UK (WVA Holdings) and in particular with one Tom Hurndall? In response to an enquiry, said person smelled money (part of his job, fair enough), but cheque in hand, rather lost interest. (1) Several emails went unanswered; (2) he...

Are you OK, slob? I'm not from your planet.

    Body/bumper misalignment

Thanks. There's no visible bend or damage to the bumper. To the naked eye it appears straight and in every way perfect. It's the gap at the far left between body and bumper (with the latter further in) that gives away that something is wrong. A dented crossmember?? How does a crossmember...

    Body/bumper misalignment

In answer to your question. muddythelandy, the rear bumper is straight all the way across. As I said, from about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way across, there's gradual misalignment, culminating in a difference of almost one cm. There's absolutely no mark on the bumper, and rarely is the vehicle parked...

    Fitting kick plates

These chequer plates are for inside the door, so they're going onto the interior door trim. Still a 4mm aluminium pop rivet, is it (closed end-blind-best)? Yes, one must be careful about what's behind, but sometimes isn't it impossible to know?

    Electric window not working

On Defender 110 Td5, RHS electric window has died. What are likely/possible causes (fuse is OK)?

    Body/bumper misalignment

I have a LR Defender 110 Td5 County Station Wagon (2005), almost new - done 17,000 km, and here's an odd thing. The body and the rear bumper have become misaligned, with the bumper at the far left side almost one cm further in than the bodywork. Until about 2/3 or 3/4 of the bumper width...

    Rear ladder fitment (Defender 110)

Hi, thanks for your replies. It looks like some ladders bolt at the top and others don't. Mine is from Front Runner, South Africa. The odd thing is that the ladder has np pre-drilling. A photo shows no bolts at the top, yet I was sent two 1 3/4" bolts, each with a locking nut, an ordinary nut...

    Fitting kick plates

Yes, Treworgy 90, chequer plate. In Oz (where I'm not from), they apparently call these things "scuff plates".

    Fitting kick plates

I have door "kick plates" for driver and passenger doors, rear door protector, and sill protectors. Guess it's easy enough to fit them myself, but don't know how. What tool(s) will I need? How can I do it? Maybe there is a site showing how to do it, but so far I haven't found one.

    Td5 extra fuel filter (diesel)

Am I imagining this, or could I have read somewhere that on a Defender (110) Td5 it's possible to fit a second (extra) fuel filter, for the purpose of giving added protection from nasty poor-quality diesel fuel that one can come across in certain parts of the world?

    Rear ladder fitment (Defender 110)

On a LR Defender 110, should a rear one-piece ladder be bolted to the body above the guttering, or just allowed to rest in the guttering and be bolted at the bottom only, near the light cluster? I think I know the answer, but would like to confirm.

    Extra fuel filter for Td5?

Am I imagining this, or could I have read somewhere that on a Defender (110) Td5 it's possible to fit a second (extra) fuel filter, for the purpose of giving added protection from nasty poor-quality diesel fuel that one can come across in certain parts of the world?

    Td5 Service Intervals

My new LR Defender Td5 110 was serviced at 5000 km. The climate here is hot and conditions sometimes dusty. When should the next service interval be (for oil change, for example), and what are the right service intervals after that?

    How much material for sound-dampening?

Please can someone tell me how many square metres or square feet or square something else of dampening material I'll need to thoroughly sound-dampen my Landrover Defender 110 Td5 County Station Wagon (2005)? That means, I think, engine compartment, bonnet/hood, floors, doors, side-panelling...

    Dynamat for Defender

Some time ago I posted a question about sound-dampening for my Landrover Defender 110 Td5 County Station Wagon (2005). Thanks for all advice. Based on that, I want to get Dynamat, possibly Dynamat Extreme. The thing is that I live in Oman and need to get the stuff shipped out here. I have some...
