    Switch pack installation

Open the cubby box lid and then remove the two screws at the very top of the switch pack, you will see them when you open the cubby box. Changing the veneer over to the new pack is easy, just some screws and pop off the little mirror selector switch. -Wills :)

    Suspension problem, please help

That is correct - no fuse = no power to run the EAS ECU hence no communication. If you are really desperate to see what faults exist plug everything back together leaving out the valve block. This may or may not work but give it a go and see what happens. Basically when you connect to the...

    Suspension problem, please help

The timer needs to be plugged in, the EAS ECU needs to be in and the valve block needs to be plugged in - are all these all in and tight?? The connection to the valve block can be difficult, make sure its fully home and clicked in. Are all these connections in place and ok?? I take it the EAS...

    Battery Drain on P38 DSE

I would try completely unplugging and removing the radio to see if the buzzing stops. I had this annoying buzz on and off until it eventually became permanent when my radio failed. As your vehicle is a 96 model I definitely agree with the above of taking the aerial lead off the RF receiver...

    suspension motor advice needed

Assuming it is the EAS compressor you are talking about then they have done the nyloc nuts up too tight. See Range Rover EAS Reset Tools - Videos and watch the video named 'How to replace the compressor mounts'. -Wills :)

    Brush Bars

Keep looking on eBay every day. They do pop up but people seem to pull them early as I suppose they have got cash offers. If you want just the A-frame it may be easier as the seller can probably post it pretty easily, it just heavy. Whereas with the full frame and side bits it's more...

    Brush Bars

Trying to buy just the brush bar hoop bits that go round the lights will be damn near impossible, believe me I tried, I had two A-bar's in the garage at one point in a desperate hope that I could source the hoop bits but never managed to get them. In the end I ended up buying one on eBay, the...

    not able to access ecu

ok, reading your profile its a 99 P38, is that correct?? F33 is a 5amp fuse which provides power to the OBDII socket like you have found out. What ECU's are trying to be accessed?? Its not uncommon for there to be corrosion on the pins of the socket OR the pins can get damaged and spread out...

    no dashboard backlight

ok, so how do you know the dimmer switch on the indicator stalk is ok?? This fault is usually caused by that rocker switches failure. Have you swapped it out with a known good one?? -Wills :)

    Chasis number...

I don't think the chassis number is rivetted to the slam panel?? Isn't it just a sticker and the 'stamped' VIN is somewhere behind a wheel arch lining on a frame rail?? -Wills :)

    "Sunroof Open " message

I guess you have read the handbook so you understand about the quarter turn back. There is no hard fault situation that needs to be reset with a computer. Have you got your new switch pack through for the windows, sunroof and mirrors?? I would get that installed and then see if you can...

Cool stuff, just so you know in advance, when re-building the valve block, see the instructions here... Range Rover Air Suspension repair, advice and troubleshooting by Rover Renovations. You will also need a little bottle of loctite so you can do the bolts which require them and also a small...

    p38 heater problems

Ive had this fault in the past and it dissapeared after I replaced both the heater matrix temp sensor (one that clips to the coolant pipe) and the evaporator temp sensor (one that pushes into the hole at below the matrix sensor). I diagnoised the fault with my Faultmate though so it wasn't too...

RR P38 DSE auto engine cut out

I would disagree - take the chip out and see if the problem dissapears. Importantly, what connections does the chip have?? I drowned my old chip when fording a river and it caused symptoms of irractic idle and was almost impossible to drive. Remove it and see what happens. -Wills :)
