    P38 DSE Overheating (yet another)

I had problems like you describe with an aftermarket rad. It was missing it's baffle which sits in the centre of the rad at the top. The function of this small plastic piece is to stop coolant coming in one side and then going straight along the top and out the other side without passing...

    I'm leaving

Think you know what you now need to do then - better start looking for another P38! What are the probs with the Merc? Stop making us all wait and just tell us :D -Will :)

p38 show car up for auction

except for the fooked up install of the LPG filling pipe in the rear. who the hell decided that it would be a good idea to drill a hole randomly in the rear panel and then just take the most direct route the the tank?! -Wills :)

p38 with heater and screen problems

The heated screen could be fusebox related, this is taken from the ETM for a 97 vehicle... Check fuses 30 & 32 in the engine bay fuse box and if ok try swapping over relays 4 & 5 and see if the non-working side of the screen now works or whether the screen even heats at all. -Wills :)

Whyis this leaking on the Injector Pump, can I get new bit?

Had exactly the same issue - only got worse and eventually had diesel ****ing everywhere. The pump ideally needs to be refurbished with all new seals at the very least. It has to come off to do this. I wouldn't try messing around with it or trying to take it apart unless you are used to...

    P38 V8 2000rpm on startup

Don't know the V8 im afraid but could it have anything to do with the idle air control valve/stepper motor?? Im sure ive read about cases in the past where they hasn't been put back together quite right and caused problems -Wills :)

can anybody get rid of the key on an l322?

nooo, stick with the P38! I guess you are thinking of the Sport on Motability - if so, it's only the SE version so while it's still an 'upgrade' from the P38 it lacks lots of the toys etc. I don't think it comes with side steps either (may or may not be important to you). Take a look at LR's...

A Funny Thing Happend On The Way To This Forum

I reckon your door lock must be knackered or something. My P38 will automagically unlock if you push the lock button down while the door is open. Saved me several times. Friends 99 and 01 P38 does this also. -Wills :) EDIT - Pretty sure this can be setup within the BeCM under the LAZY...

    O rings

im guessing heater matrix o-rings? make sure the garage you goto has a good track record with P38's and knows what they are doing when replacing. I would do them yourself personally, patience and time and above all you know it's done right. I did them myself and at the time was only just...

flat battery + engine locked out + alarm going off !!!!! HELP!!!!!!

That is different between different engined P38's. On the diesel one it tells you to to connect the booster cables directly to the respective + and - terminals. -Wills :)

    P38 Snorkel News Flash!

How much above the recommended depth do you actually go?? I have also taken my P38 through floods just under 2 feet deep and that is honestly the max depth I would go with it - infact it was a bit of a brown trouser moment when the water got that deep as I didn't quite realise the road dipped...

    P38 Snorkel News Flash!

Have you fitting instructions for a PSI Power Box?

assuming the box is a new 'digital' style one it will most likely have 2 arge circular plugs and 2 small rectangular ones. If this is the case then the large circular one is for the fuel injection pump. Look at the LH (passenger) side of the engine, find the fuel injection pump. Is...

    Central locking/indicators

Has your battery gone flat at all recently?? You need a diagnostic computer to change/adjust settings in the BeCM. If you have a look at this following screen from a Rovacom style system you can see the different options available (ignore the red box, this was for something else)... The...

    Burnt out Gearbox

I would agree - as you are in London go with Ashcrofts (even though I did have a bad experience with them which they eventually sorted after lots of moaning and then me turning up on their doorstep and protesting in reception) - make absolutely sure though that the torque converter is replaced...

    DSE Cut Out...
