The heated screen could be fusebox related, this is taken from the ETM for a 97 vehicle... Check fuses 30 & 32 in the engine bay fuse box and if ok try swapping over relays 4 & 5 and see if the non-working side of the screen now works or whether the screen even heats at all. -Wills :)

Had exactly the same issue - only got worse and eventually had diesel ****ing everywhere. The pump ideally needs to be refurbished with all new seals at the very least. It has to come off to do this. I wouldn't try messing around with it or trying to take it apart unless you are used to...

Don't know the V8 im afraid but could it have anything to do with the idle air control valve/stepper motor?? Im sure ive read about cases in the past where they hasn't been put back together quite right and caused problems -Wills :)

nooo, stick with the P38! I guess you are thinking of the Sport on Motability - if so, it's only the SE version so while it's still an 'upgrade' from the P38 it lacks lots of the toys etc. I don't think it comes with side steps either (may or may not be important to you). Take a look at LR's...

I reckon your door lock must be knackered or something. My P38 will automagically unlock if you push the lock button down while the door is open. Saved me several times. Friends 99 and 01 P38 does this also. -Wills :) EDIT - Pretty sure this can be setup within the BeCM under the LAZY...

im guessing heater matrix o-rings? make sure the garage you goto has a good track record with P38's and knows what they are doing when replacing. I would do them yourself personally, patience and time and above all you know it's done right. I did them myself and at the time was only just...

That is different between different engined P38's. On the diesel one it tells you to to connect the booster cables directly to the respective + and - terminals. -Wills :)

How much above the recommended depth do you actually go?? I have also taken my P38 through floods just under 2 feet deep and that is honestly the max depth I would go with it - infact it was a bit of a brown trouser moment when the water got that deep as I didn't quite realise the road dipped...
