Hi could check harness for the injectors as suggested. I had an injector fail (comes on suddenly) ran rough when power on but the engine felt smooth when used as engine brake eg slowing down.I put a second hand injector in and had it calibrated no problems since also put in new improved harness...

    Project Series 2A

Hi great to see photos as I'm planning to do a rebuild. Try mortuary gloves they are like heavy duty surgical gloves, quite tough and still allow you to feel what's going on unlike heavy rubber chemical resistant ones.

    Front wheel bearings TD5

Hi I recently redid all the bearings/linings etc on my td5. I made a wheel nut socket which works well. You can use a long pole to undo the nut and a large 1/2 inch drive allen hex socket to tighten it up to approx 150 ( I know about the torque multiplier effect of the extension). I'll post a...

    Replace an early TD5 engine

Probably a good idea to download the rave cd as there are quite a few differences but they seem to mainly be of concern from a part swapping point of view. It should have its own ecu as they are different after 2002 I think.

    td5 injectors

Hi anyone have ideas for contacts re td5 injectors. Looks like I may have to replace one. Could be interested in a good second hand if available, needs to be reliable source as I'm in Australia so don't want to buy some thing thats rubbish. Thanks.

    whats up with my brakes?

Hi may be worth checking your brake arm pivot I've heard that if it's not returning fully it doesn't allow pressure in the system to release so it rachets up building up pressure. Perhaps the few quick taps did not allow presure to release quickly enough.Could be a dry pivot point a dicky spring...

    Discovery TD5 Fuel Leak

I would start bygiving it a good clean to see where its leaking from. The tank is plastic with a thin steel cover, may be punctured. Fuel pump sits in tank from the top, as the fuel is recirulated it could be leaking through the delivery/return piping.Possibly a split filler tube.
