    progressive problem

That would explain the knock, but would it cause the leak and the tire wear? It just seems odd its all happening in one area now. Its got to be linked, surely?

    progressive problem

Hi all. About 2 months ago we noticed the FNS tire on the other halves D1 was wearing on the outside only. I first thought it was tracking out, sent her to tire place to get it checked, and they said no all was fine, just a duff tire or going round too many roundabouts(?). Then about a week ago...

    It doesn't like the cold!

Let the glow plugs do their job. Don't just start it when the dash light goes out. Wait 5 more seconds (just cos the dash light is out, doesn't mean the glow plugs aren't still heating) and then put your foot to the floor and THEN start it. That is how we start mine and my G/F's 300 discos, and...

Does your Land Rover have a name?

The Beast Master Death Wagon. Named by just about everyone else but me, as I go hunting with it, when it works....

to tow or not to tow, this is the question?

this is a very good point, didn't i see someone had done a disclaimer that we could download and print to go in the motor? Had a look can't find it now. would be very handy.

Simple problem - not so simple solution!!!

I had the same problem. Ended up drilling the nut almost all the way through, then getting a small chisel in there and smacking it one. Didint get it off, but broke it open enough to be turned easily. I couldn't get stilsons to work even with someone else holding them.

    Clutch?

Have already replaced the UJ's thats why I thought the T/F box. I will let a mechanic I know look at it before starting, but from what you have said, i think its a foregone conclusion. Cheers for pointing the way everyone.

    Clutch?

300 disco mate. Cant afford someone else to do, thats why i'm doing my best to learn all i can from you guys. Its nice to know the props wear out. Didnt know they could. Never thought about it really. Well I can look into it when everything's off i suppose.

    Clutch?

No hope of affording a fender at the mo! I think I'm going to pause the insurance for a month or 2, and just do all the work that has stacked up. Sills need replacing, and rear x-member, front arches welding up, and new rear axle. and needs new brakes all round. Apart from that, sound as a pound!

    Clutch?

Not quite! Electric went off! Back now to moan some more! :D

    Clutch?

Its a 300tdi disco. I've always had probs with 2nd gear crunching, so was going to fix it someday. And i have massive movement in the front prop from the T/F box, so suspect warn parts in there as well. I wont drive it any more, even if it snows! What do you mean what wheel is it in?
  14. sirwingalot

    Clutch?

bugger. another cost i cant afford! ok so how long to do a clutch? and as i need to look at the transfer box and gear box might as well do them at the same time. Thats me with out wheels, and all i was waiting for was the snow! Guess what the forecast is tomorrow! Arrrggghhh!

    Clutch?

Ok just been out and tried that. Even more confused now. The clutch bites and pulls the slack out of the hand brake, but at the point you'd expect the engine to stall or struggle, it just revs. I got to 1300rpm with no odd noises fron the engine. surely it should have stalled before then? SO...

    Clutch?

Never had a clutch go before, so i'm a bit confused. I understand how a clutch works, but not how its gone so weird. I was at traffic lights, pulled away and seemed to loose all power for about 10 seconds, then had intermittent power for 5 min. Stopped at petrol station, and when i left there it...

    Help! Fire! Fire!

All I've done so far is look over the loom where it was affected, and checked the fuse box. Where would i look for the earth straps?

    Help! Fire! Fire!

right so i've had a few days now to find all the little gremlins the fire has left me with, and so far the list reads= windscreen wipers have stopped working indicator clicker (presume a relay) has stopped sluggish to start beeping light reminder stopped lost all dash illumination but not clock...

    New tire/wheel concepts

Yeah but its from crazy ideas that the best ideas come. Who thought we'd be using a long range communications device/weapon for cooking dinner with?
