    evening!! your bearing will fail as soon as you have travelled a significant distance into the middle of nowhere, the rain comes on, your mobile runs out of battery, every other human is outwith a 20mile radius and its getting dark. :doh: i'd fix it soon as possible!!

    yeah, i have two 4.203's both with different sumps. i believe some 4.203 from tractors required a smaller sump to fit a landy.

    if its any use i've had a look at my 4.203 engine book, it states sump capacity as "Varies according to application. Fill to full mark on dipstick with vehilce or machine standing on level ground." :D

    your probably right with the stationary engine point! mine deffinatly have vac pumps though, its below the fuel pump, on the n/s of the engine, looks like a dynamo with no electrical connections and only has a single pipe coming from it. the drive gears for the pump mesh with the engine main...
