yeah, i have two 4.203's both with different sumps. i believe some 4.203 from tractors required a smaller sump to fit a landy.

if its any use i've had a look at my 4.203 engine book, it states sump capacity as "Varies according to application. Fill to full mark on dipstick with vehilce or machine standing on level ground." :D

right, i remembered the camera today! here's the set up on my 4.203, i think the hose is maybe of the garden variety rather than a fuel hose!! the pump also has an oil supply off the block, i never noticed it before. vac pump is out of sight below the fuel pump at the bottom of the pic, hose...

your probably right with the stationary engine point! mine deffinatly have vac pumps though, its below the fuel pump, on the n/s of the engine, looks like a dynamo with no electrical connections and only has a single pipe coming from it. the drive gears for the pump mesh with the engine main...

i'm sure perkins 4203's have built in vac pumps. its either above or below the fuel pump, driven from the timing gears of the engine. i'll take the camera out with me tomorrow an get some pic's as i have two of the lumps. they also have loads of external oil pipes, i'm sure you'd be able...

my last count was ten grand, but thats buying, insuring, tax, parts more tax over several years and four landies...... i aint had that moneys all at the same time!!! an like 90 says, its deffinatly cheaper than golf!! :D

i've this one: Clarke 1 Tonne Folding Workshop Crane - CFC100 - Machine Mart its a little bit small for the landy but i've not been stuck with it yet. gets loads of use and it folds up a fits in the back of my toyota with out major surgery. if i was to change it i'd get one with a longer...

aye, i've got a machine mart fold up one, not quite as fancy as that, mine likes to fall over when its folded up...... well worth the money though!!
