    Identifying my engine arrangement

Should also say... the fan has been removed and replaced with electric. No cowl. The drive belt snapped and is lost on the roadside somewhere. The other belt got inverted when it happened. I haven't touched anything yet - I only took photos.

    Identifying my engine arrangement

Hi folks, I'm under my bonnet for the first time coz I gotta replace snapped drive belt. My Landy is 1985 and I think was originally a 19J, but retrofitted with Defender (not Disco) 200TDi. That's what I'm told. Reading the Hayne's workshop manual which covers both variations to see what is...

Basingstoke Those roundabouts are fun when the steering feels more like you're flying a kite! :)

I haz wheelz :) 1985 chassis, hard-top, with a 200tdi, suspension lift, BFG tyres, roof lamps and some other mods. And no clue what most of that means! Fun fun fun. Please can someone recommend a good Landy-friendly mechanic in north hampshire. Not sure I wanna take it to a town mech, but...

Thanks kato and drewster for more encouragement. I've had to stop looking for now because I haven't decided what to spend, what condition to buy, etc. Looking for a car when you don't know what you want is frustrating and fruitless. However, have decided that is must be a tdi, it will have to...

    1989 g reg for sale

I'm in the market for a 90. Will you be advertising it on here any time soon? At the moment I'm dead keen, and want to get something while my loins are still throbbing with anticipation.

:D I was locked in the east wing of the castle with only half the usual number of servants to cater for my needs. That certainly opened my eyes to the harsh realities of life. I say old chap. I took a gander at one of those Rave Roger thingamajigs, and I must say I certainly don't fancy one...

I just spent a Landy budget on bikes! They are folders so might even fit in back of a 90. If I could drive my beloved new bikes in the back of my beloved new car, with my beloved up front with me, then i'd be living the dream. But am still 2 beloveds short of that! Got 2 x 2 wheels. Want 4x4...

Thanks FP. Somewhere out there is a Fender with my name on it, but I don't think it's a 110. That'd answer a few of my reservations, but I just can't love the shape. Whereas seein a 90 always makes me smile, and I do need cheerin up! Subsequent talk of applying lippy doesn't put me off...

Thanks all. Paul D and Drewster highlight my issue... I think this'd be a second car for me. I'm concerned about running costs (mpg) and 'boot' space. I must admit i've not carefully compared dimensions but visuals lead me to believe there's much less space in the back than an average hatchback...

I'm stuck in a loop - Autotrader Groundhog Day. Defender 90. Bottom end of price range, between 2 and 3 grand. But it probably needs tlc, beyond me. Look for something which has been restored but doesn't have too many mods. Spec and price go up. Then I feel guilty that someone's pride & joy...

That's all very well, but did it get you behind the wheel of the car you are destined to drive? Eloquence or otherwise, I'd rather be comparing wheel bases and discussing lpg conversion, than comparing grammar schools. If entry to the Defender club is based on desire and passion, rather than...

How about if I get a tattoo and cultivate my shoulder hair? I don't want a Range Rover coz I've got no kids to take to shool.

Hi folks. New member on the forum, but not yet a member of the community / gang / cult coz not actually got the right sort of wheels to fit in. I've always loved the old Defenders and now it's my mid-life I don't see why I should stay without. I'm not mechanically minded, don't ever need...
