Hi there, what series/ age is your motor, im pretty sure its something all cars need (gb included) if its a series 3 it will be a thing you pull in the middle of the dash with a red triangle on it, ( next to the fog light)

I've spoke to insurance, and they say so long as it is professionally fitted with a belt it won't cost me on my insurance premium, so I went to the local scrappy got the middle belt from the back of a 106 (I already have the seat) went to my local garage and they Said there no point in paying...

I'm going to fit a halfords lap belt one I think (it's £17) can I simply unbolt the mounting that are already there (for driver and passanger) and use the same bolt. E.g. Have the metal tab for the driver and the tab on the centre seat on the same bolt ? Thanks ben

I'd say if you rinsed the tank with water then you could weld it reasonably safely if that helps

There's endless bits on the suggested 200/ 300tdi swap with and without turbo, also the v8 sounds good (but single figure mpg), my advice is try get what you've got going, also petrol or diesel 2.25? And I wish the best of luck :)

No worries on the mistake :) Anyway, i used to have them on my last series, and I looked into them (I had super winch) and the general theme of opinion was, if they work keep and use them, if they don't, take apart clean down, refit and grease etc, if summit bad has happened then fit normal...

Zeaphod I don't think that's correct ( or I misunderstood) if the red one is in low range you have low range 4wd, (assuiming the FWH's are engaged, or you don't have FWH'S) the yellow one down is 4wd high range, but if you make the FWH's free then with the red back or yellow down you only get...

I've changed the oil in my main box, transfer and overdrive, by only taking out the plate under the centre seat (6screws), but as these chaps say, keep putting oil in until it runs out the hole,(a funnel and half a meter of old hosepipe make this easier) also if you do decide to do an oil...
