Pleased you have sorted that one. Which fuse keeps blowing? Depending on which one it could be caused by a trailer socket if you have one.

Here's mine which did fail the MOT.

It depends on how severe the rust is. The driver's side would appear to be the worse of the two. It is within 30cms of the seat belt mount. The Mot tester can't (shouldn't) poke it through. But, as above, it will pass at some stations and fail at others.

Try your local motor factors, they aren't an unusual part. Put two 25mm spacers together.

This may be of no help whatsoever but......... I took one out of my Disco and replaced it with a Panasonic which just plugged straight into the connectors with no problem. The pin out on the panasonic is attached. I got the manual from Manualsonline

If you have removed the box you should be able to see either AMR 6240 10AS or AMR 2106/9 17VT. The 6240 has a 2 button fob and the 2106/9 a 1 button fob. It always helps to put the year and model of your disco when asking advice. :welcome2:

If the siren isn't there check the ECU. Look at Land Rover Immobiliser and Alarm ECU's . 10AS is 2 button 17VT is 1 button. Also if it is 17VT you can check the freqency you need, either 418 or 433mhz usually. 95 & 96 are likely to be 433. The site tells you were to find your ECU as well.

I was under the impression that Disco 1 heater temp is controlled by air flow not coolant flow, and the matrix is always hot.

True, but the last of the one button fobs were 433mhz. You need to look at the ECU to check.

Mine is different to the pictures above, the hoses to the vapouriser are both teed off the same pipe, the heater inlet. As mine is currently in bits I am considering taking the heater inlet pipe direct to the vapouriser and then from the vap to the heater inlet which avoids T pieces and...

Have a look at your central locking ECU - HERE. You need to know whether it is 418mhz or 433mhz to get the right fob. If the central locking is working and you have the right fob you should be able to programme and use it.

I've got mine apart at the moment to renew the head gaskets, but if you post a photo of yours I can compare it with what I know about mine. Hope that may help.

I think you'll find it is fuse 6 in the satellite 2 box. In the handbook it states it is for the Trailer Auxiliary Socket or something similar but it's also for interior lights clock and radio.

It's usually the membrane that fails. Take the seat out and repair it with bungee cords. Cheap, cheerful and sort of in keeping with your description of the truck.:)
