Have a look round where your "black box" is, if you have a green box there also it could be that at fault. It has an inertia switch inside which activates the hazards in the event of a crash. If it is not secured properly it can cause the symptoms you have. However, I am not 100% certain...

Yes. Channel MUC2322 to no LA081990 Rubber insert MUC2325 Channel ALR6482 from MA081991 Rubber insert ALR 6482. The hardest part of the job is getting the glass into the rubber insert believe me I've been there!

Find the fuse that is for the towing electrics. That is the one which causes those problems. In a 300 it's fuse 6 in the satellite fuse box 2 (20amp) but that is not much use to you!!!! This will give you an idea

I used a similar technique but hit the guide with a rubber mallet. Washing up liquid helps the rubber to go on.

I only have a near side step on mine which I want to take off very soon. I'll let you know when I do, you're welcome to the rubber (or the whole step if you want)

Try a Hot air gun (or even a hairdryer) it loosens the adhesive a bit.
