Freelander 1 Tailgate window stuck open.... Kind of inconvenient.

How could this be so? Most if not all vans have rear doors that open out and block all the rear lights!

    Hi from the Borders !

Hello. I had a Freelander for around 9 years and loved it, have recently moved on to a Defender 90 and must say love it more.

    Insurance

It really all depends on location, some will say, "no it doesn't", but it does. I moved from Kent to Scotland in July and when I informed my insurance of change of address I got a £16 refund! I'm with Aviva.

    Freelander TD4 2005

Makes total sense now. May I add though, yours does look good, I do like the extra nudge bar on the front of them!

    Freelander TD4 2005

I would be careful using them as fog lights, they look like they are actually spot lights, I'm sure you will find the the fog lights on the front of a freelander are fitted into the bumper and point slightly downwards so as to not blind the on coming traffic. I know as the I had the same set up...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Snorkel is now on, left it a bit late so got a bit dark towards finishing.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Today I have treated mine to a snorkel, just need to fit it now, most likely will be first thing I do tomorrow.

    Fed up with wipers

+1, have reverted to Bosch wipers, did this about 5 years ago, they do last much longer.

BECKER CD DISCS - ARE THESE THE RIGHT ONES?

They look identical to the ones I had for my 2004 Freelander, as you say though, they are out of date!

    Tyre choose FREELANDER 2

I tried all sorts of tyres when I had my freelander. Ones on it when I bought it were Michelines, eventually went back to Michelines as found they were the best ride in my opinion!

Is this a 2007 TD5. This is advertised on ebay.

Definitely looks like a TDCi, they were used from 2007. Not a TD5!

    Land rover HD tubeless rims

    +1.......definitely no!

    Defender TD5 centre dash illumination

Replaced all mine, now they all illuminate! Hunter_pa, I'm sorry but can't help you with this one!

    Defender TD5 centre dash illumination

I have a 2002 TD5 and the only switch in the centre that illuminates is the hazard light switch! I don't think the others are supposed to, but then I could be wrong. Tony

    Headlamps - horizontal line?

Correct, there are three clamp locations on the bowl and the positions on the back of the lamp should have lugs to line them up correctly. Make sure you have the two adjuster points correctly located, mine are actually at 6 and 9 o'clock.

    Got pulled over this evening...

They can breath test at any point if they have reason to believe you have been drinking. It doesn't matter the reason for pulling you over.

    Hello people

Welcome to the mad house, I too bought you my first Defender this year because I always wanted one and also knowing it could cause me grief sometimes. As you say "that doesn't matter".

    EGR

Regardless of some of the doubt about EGR blanking, it is most definitely your first step. Mine gained about 3-4 miles extra to the gallon when it was replaced, and engine response was better as well. Be wary about having your MAF sensor checked, when i had problems with my old TD4 I had a...
