if your worried about the heater leak,pop the bonnet & you will see 2 pipes on top of the heater box join these 2 pipes so it bypasses the heater then moniter your coolant for a week if it stops dropping it proves heater is the problem. i picked one up at the driffield show a couple of weeks...

take the front prop off stick it in diff lock go for a short drive see if the noise dissapears. But i thought you would have experienced some vibration through the steering if you had a worn prop.

could possibly be a turbo pipe getting a bit soft, would seem a bit early at 48,000 though. sounds like it has rebooted the ecu after stalling. You should also check the ecu for oil contamination, thes are things i have come across during ownership of a td 5 90, hope it helps

dont do anything youll regret, tap away with a hammer & a screwdriver it will release. If this is a td 5 their is only one locknut when you get in there.

Does the noise soon disapear soon after you set off is it only from cold if so its only the spigot bearing dont change till you do the clutch , as for the clunking could be numerous things a frame bearing, cv play, prop,gearbox shaft, i have limited knolwedge but this is what i have come across...

Had the same problem changed the light switch all ok again, it is not unknown for the switch /stalk to fail. Hope this helps

just replaced the seals on my 90 td5 found the same gap filled it with roof & gutter sealent. Seems to have done the job

had a night heater in mine for 5/6 years now sits behind the bulk head & thermostat next to me in the cab but luckily got myself a 12 volt so knoe wiring probs, Cant help you with the fitting though got a sparky to fit it for me.
