    Time to galvanise?

Any recommendations as to where to get a chassis in the West Mids? It would be nice to go and have a look and see.

    Time to galvanise?

It may be my imagination but have Marsland chassis gone up in price during lockdown? May have to look at Richards.

    Time to galvanise?

I finally got the back end off to reveal what I thought was likely. Yep, lots of rust and holes in difficult to access places. So, although it is always repairable, I think the bullet will have to be well and truly bit and look for a galv chassis in earnest. With Craddocks 5 mins away, I may see...

Quick check on roof removal, please.

Come on man. I will have a new chassis by the time it’s going. Any chassis left on JAM or still just rear x member?

Quick check on roof removal, please.

    Hello Steve. How's JAM?

Quick check on roof removal, please.

Yes, all done thanks guys. I gradually levered it up and used a crowbar to prise it apart. As you say, stuck with a very sticky black goo. Now for the tub. I gather there are the bolts on the rear cross member, the rear outriggers (will be loose as these were replaced a couple of years ago) then...

Quick check on roof removal, please.

Thanks guys. I will persist. As long as there are no locating lugs I can now administer a little more force. I have unbolted the side panels while waiting. Not mnay bolts holding these in place.

Quick check on roof removal, please.

Hi. Just removing the roof on my 90. All the bolts are out as far as I can tell. Loose at the back and pivots forward, but the front above the screen seems more stubborn. I don't want to force it. Are there lugs that locate at the front or is it just likely to have been siliconed in so will just...

    Time to galvanise?

That seems like wise words. Looking back at any earlier reply, is it even worth getting the Disco 1 axles if the only advantage is that it means doing away with the spacers and having rear discs. If not then I may just as well stay with what I have and refurb them. Had meant to do the swivel...

    Time to galvanise?

Thanks for the replies. If my mate says it would be a pain then I think that points the way towards a chassis. He like I was surprised how bad is has got in a year. Last few years with repairs mentioned and check for patches last year. Oh well. Best get saving. They ain't cheap.

    Time to galvanise?

Interesting, thanks. Mine has spacers front and rear, so it would be nice to get away from them as they are a pain every time you want to do anything with the hubs. Front disco axles are vented discs, too, if I remember correctly, but it was a while ago since I had mine. Was there a particular...

    Time to galvanise?

All good advice. Thanks. I must look at your thread Litch. Yes, it’s a keeper. So a chassis would be a worthwhile investment ..... I think. A pity the garage is full of mini and kit car ir I would have somewhere to store things You’re probably right get the chassis to where I can just swap...

    Time to galvanise?

That was what I was thinking initially but the MOT chap is a mate and if he thinks it is woeful then it may not be worth it. Besides, do I really fancy rolling around in the cold under a 90...again.

    Time to galvanise?

Well, it's was that time of year all 90 owners fear with a mixture of dread and certainty. Certainty that the MOT will be failed and dread not knowing what it will fail on. Needless to say it failed. The front outriggers I knew about but all the other suspension mounting points........not so...

    Front prop direction check

Okay. Thanks chaps. I can put back together and then dismantle the Vito that broke a coil spring yesterday. Great!

    Front prop direction check

So just confirm. As it is in the photo with the arrow to the diff? I didn't split the prop so assumed the phasing would be correct. Thanks.

    Front prop direction check

Hi. I have just replaced an old very knackered uj on my front prop. Two sides had no needle rollers left in. The ujs weren't fit that long ago in mileage terms which made me wonder whether or not there was undue wear. I have searched on here (and elsewhere) and read mixed opinions as to the...
  18. seanlandy

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Diagnosed clunk from front as completely knackered uj. (not been on that long) Not hard really once I got under and wiggled Completely buggered so off with the prop tomorrow. I assume I can still drive 2 wheel drive for short journeys?
