Yes i did notice that but i think a little thought and fettling it would certainly strengthen it up. Its obviously cracked at the weakest point so would be good to strengthen there.

I would slip a piece of pipe over the O D and weld it as that part must take the jarring it would in fact strengthen it up. ;)

Last year when i had my 110 M O Td i had an advisory saying Tyre sidewalls showing signs of cracking. Since then i have had a new set of tyres. This year i had an advisory tyres showing signs of excessive tread. So it seems an advisory on Land rovers is compulsory. ;)

Yes i always keep all oil levels toped up.

Its been like it for two years now and most of that is pulling heavy loads. Noise goes once i depress the clutch pedal.

Wish i could find a really nice one of those i may be tempted when the time comes to me getting an auto.:)
