    Importing disco to france

Not in Europe, most countries need to see 3 VIN numbers, chassis, windscreen and build plate. My rear chassis is corroded but not perforated, I got an advisory for that but nothing more, but then I'd bought mine with 11.5 months MOT having just had £800 spent by the previous owner to get it...

    Importing disco to france

Having just imported a D2 from the UK ( got my full carte grise 2 days ago ) here's my 2c worth! Having a typical rear chassis, no VIN number visible, I visited my local Controle Technique centre to consult on the best way to go. Answer at mine was, " It's a Discovery 2, what do you expect...

    Disco 2 TD5 Auto vibration

Nope, same when cold and hot and its there from starting until journeys end Thanks Hmmmm, I'll give that a try even though for the life of me can't see how it works, but who cares, if it works it works!

    Disco 2 TD5 Auto vibration

Thats one to think about, atf is fairly clean and doesn't smell off, even so I may try a new filter and oil replacement although it changes really well and the problem occurs in all 4 gears...... mind you, one side of the torque convertor spins at engine speed so it could be something to do with it.

    Disco 2 TD5 Auto vibration

I've found a few threads on this and can't seem to find an answer so..... My 1999 TD5 auto has a vibration evident at about 2250 - 2400 rpm, it is engine speed related, not drivetrain as the vibration occurs in all 4 gears under load. I've already discounted the fan and viscous coupling as it...

    P38 Nanocom

I know this is a bit of a resurrection, but, I've built a blue cable from some rubbish lying around and a £5 DA15 2 row socket using the above wiring pinout this morning - result is it works! I've accessed everything on my D2 and coded a new key to it so thanks for finding the pinouts Datatek...

    Disco 1 Did I buy a lemon...................................

Reading this I thank the Land Rover Gods that my Discovery had just had new discs and pads all round before I bought it in December..... with the above in mind I may just drop the wheels off and add a bit of copaslip here & there!

    Disco 2 won’t turn over

That is how to test your solenoid and it appears from what you've put that the solenoid contacts are worn out - common problem. Starter needs to come out anyway to replace the solenoid contacts or swap the whole thing for the new one that's on the way then repair your original one and keep it as...

    Disco 2 won’t turn over

The starter lead powers the actual starter motor when the solenoid operates to start the car. The solenoid is operated by the wire connected to the lucar terminal so if you're trying to bypass the car's systems to prove that they are or are not part of the problem, once you have a battery lead...

Ok, any ideas what this is?

I know my Disco 3 had them but not the 2, but you're right Marjon, it definitely resembles one.

    Don't think so, it's flat.

Ok, any ideas what this is?

I found this tucked down at the back of my inner wing this morning ( 99 Discovery Td5 auto ) It seems familiar to me but I can't quite remember where I've seen one before. Any ideas? It's about 45mm across and 5mm thick steel.

Disco 2 TD5 crank pulley, stupid question.

Well job done this morning, took about an hour, thanks to Bobdog for the starter trick to crack the bolt, took about 8 or 9 tries before it popped. We now have a lack of clacking!

Eeek! Looking at that, think we'll forget glue, welding may be a better short term answer I think!

My kind of repair! Thanks for that one.

Disco 2 TD5 crank pulley, stupid question.

Yep, seen that thanks, more concerned as to whether it'll fall off in the next week or so, typically its going to snow for the next week and a 206CC isn't the ideal car for snow and ice at nearly 2500 feet!
