It is turning over, and occasionally it does have a slight attempt to fire.

I tried opening the rear door but it was frozen - that must be causing the single horn. Cheers.

Oh well, no replies so I'll just update this to say it looks like the reset has got rid of the codes, the warning light has gone out and my HDC is fully operational! :) All it needed was the diagnostic reset.

Think I dropped lucky on this one - recovery guy was determined to get it started. He was checking the fuel pump, located under the rear seat and moved the wiring loom slightly and this sorted the problem. I wonder if it's a common problem where the seat rubs the loom?

Oh well, only a month or so in and my 1.8 freelander won't start this morning. Turning over but not firing. Waiting for the recovery guy to turn up. Oh joy.

You can get pretty decent new speakers for not much money, so might not be worth loking for secondhand ones. I'd recommend JBL speakers being a decent budget choice, but any of the usual branded models if you shop around should be an improvement on the std speakers.

What model Freelander do you have? My 99 freelander only has room for a single din.
