Had my own 85 110 V8 converted to LPG, can't i noticed much drop in power, and still cheap to run. It does about 15 mpg on gas (equates to a petrol equiv of around 30mpg on running costs) if driven sensibly, but does get thirsty at above about 80mph (allegedly!!), just DONT get the underslung...

Yep, that will be a killer, but worth phoning around a few specialst brokers and checking the get out options, may even be within the 'cooling off' period built into most policies. Would seem a shame that a young lad who is obviously into our motors could be put off without at least exploring...
