I agree that a new chassis is better than repairing an old one but welding a chassis does'nt mean dodgy welding every time, like I said earlier, I just done my own and it's turned out a good job, the rest of the chassis is good so it's a big jump from £200 to repair to anything from...

If you can weld, I'd go for the repairs for the moment, it won't take to long, not to expensive and then have a think about selling it. I am in the middle of doing almost the same repairs on my 90. As someone else said, give the rest of the chassis a good going over before you start to make sure...

Does'nt sound so good,the friction plate usually has 'flywheel side' written on it so it should be in the right way if you saw that. Clutch should work properly right from the word go. Might be worth checking that the correct kit was supplied, otherwise could be to do with the fork/release...

Could be bust c.v joint, mine went a couple of weeks ago and had to use diff lock to get home, c.v was in a million bits.

Does anyone have any tips? My fathers landy (90) has had the rear inner and outer hub seals changed twice but one side just keeps on leaking, all the bits seem to be in good order, it has drums on the rear. Any ideas whats up?

Brave man, doing a chassis swap in these conditions. Don't have the same problems you had with the chassis, seems to be confined to both outriggers and I have already done the rear crossmember so its nearly there. Went over the entire chassis with the needle gun and its pretty good, big surprise...

anyone know what the hole in the bottom of the timing belt housing is for, its right below the bottom pully.I think it is threaded?

That clarke needle gun looks the same as mine, air chisel with attachment already fitted, the attachment is bout 14 quid...if you already have the air chisel. Got the air chisel in Aldi last month for 7 quid!!!
