    Crows...bear with me

One firearm i own (i own a lot) is a 22lr which has a sound moderator (silencer) and is deathly quiet when used with subsonic ammunition. A fart is louder. This is my go to rabbit rifle but i have used it on crows on farmland with plenty of space. Despite being a smallbore calibre you do still...

    Crows...bear with me

Thats similar to what a neighbour has done. He used plastic stuff which you'd usually use to prevent leaves getting in guttering and has them on his and wife's cars. Another neighbour told me yesterday, crows are trying to remove the seals in his Velux window.

    Crows...bear with me

A follow up. Yesterday evening, i nipped outside to my van to get something and as i walked past my car, i noticed the cardboard was gone and the feathery marks on glass/pecking marks on rubber seals. Running out of options, so i wrapped the wiper in a white plastic shopping bag and another...

You need to practice. Don't blow it like your playing a trumpet. Almost growl into the caller. I've stood in my garden and called crows in.

    Crows...bear with me

I've got a Primos crow caller which is 100% effective. I used to call crows in from a wood on a farm i used to shoot to get them in range. 34gms of no5 shot ended them.

    Crows...bear with me

I already have a stack of crow decoys. When i used shoot them, i used to put egg shells and kitchen waste amongst them to lure them in. Always wanted to try mirrors but sadly that would be illegal. The cardboard i had on rear window must have blew off in the wind last night as it was gone when...

    Crows...bear with me

I know everyone (there is only eight houses on my road) will be suffering with damage to some degree but i guess some people just accept it.

    Crows...bear with me

I have considered a larsen trap but for it to be effective, it would need to be at front of house and i know someone would release the bird. i bought another wiper blade earlier from Halfrauds so will see how long it lasts.

I would hazzard a guess and say they do far more damage than crows. I know in certain parts of London, Paraquets are the hooligan bird due to their numbers.

    They're smart birds.🐦

    Crows...bear with me

This is probably the best safest option. 👍 I forgot to say, another neighbour told me yesterday, the crows have disconnected his tv ariel twice which results in paying someone to get up on roof to reconnect it. A third neighbour has had to wrap his wiper blades in mesh to prevent them getting...

    Crows...bear with me

They're nesting in a sycamore tree about 60 yards away and then sit on a neighbours opposite my house. I thought they might be attracted to the chrome bit on my tailgate but my neighbours Nissan dont have anything shiny and they're suffering as well.

Crows, magpies, Jays, rooks etc are still on the general licence (which defra issue every year) so can be legally culled but only if dining on a field of cereal crop etc. The plastic hawk idea wouldn't ever work. I've personally watched crows bully Buzzards which are 4x bigger than them. Crows...

    Crows...bear with me

Last week, a murder of crows started to attack my Freelander 2 on the drive. The week started off ok with my car passing its mot with no advisories......then the corvids started their hate campaign against me. I cant shoot them because i think my neighbours would freak out if i stood in garden...

Freelander 2 MPG?? (Thinking of switching from Disco2)

Mine is 2012. Yes, it's that weird thing which cuts the engine if you stop at lights. You can switch it off but end of the day it reduces the road tax as it puts the car in another band. The TD4 engine does sound a bit agricultural when cold.

Freelander 2 MPG?? (Thinking of switching from Disco2)

Mine is manual with stop/start so the road tax is £255 and insurance is £247. It's a bog standard gs 150bhp.

Freelander 2 MPG?? (Thinking of switching from Disco2)

Mine with 99,000 miles on the clock does 44mpg on motorways at 60mph and 38 urban. Very comfy to drive with usual toys. One thing which improved the economy was, several weeks ago i filled up with go faster diesel and stuck four bottles of redex diesel additive in the tank. Sceptics will...

Land Rover show Stoneleigh 24th November 2024

Well, we went, we saw, we conquered and got wet....walking back to car. Severe monsoon all the way home. Was smaller than i envisaged but i guess its at tail end of year and traders decided not to attend. I bought a LR woolly hat and scarf cos i feel the cold terribly due to medication. Would...
