If you want to keep it standard but with the reliability of the Pierberg MAF you could do as I did and buy the new Pierberg 0.722684.11.0 MAF from the tuning diesels website I replaced the standard Bosch MAF with this one and it works great and a lot cheaper than buying a Synergy and MAF.

My mates was a 2009 30k and the dealer admitted that they have problems and he managed to get the clutch done under warrantee because it wasn't worn but had popped as they put it the injectors were rattling when he traded it in.

Xtrails are not reliable they blow turbo's the injectors wear out quickly and the clutch can destroy itself in under 30,000 miles search the web and you find loads of people have had these problems as did my mate he got rid and got a CRV

Did you have any warning light s on the dash? it sounds like it went into limp mode and reset itself when the ignition was turned off I've had the same thing with a Skoda octavia.

Had IRD changed to a 4WD one as mine had been changed to 2WD.

Just thought I'd post an update, I had my FL booked in on 30/10/13 to have the IRD replaced with a second hand one but things didn't go to plan they had my car all day from 7:30am and rang me up at 3:00pm to say it wouldn't be getting done as the boss was off and he wanted to do the job himself...

In my owners manual it says that the air bags and seat belt tensioners are service items with a life of 10 years and must be replaced by the dealer, could it be srs light is to show that this is now due may just need turning of with hawkeye or similar.

My 2003 TD4 has the same sensor in the intercooler hose but no wiring for it, I read on here I think that LR only supply the hose with the sensor now so I presume thats why mine has one but not wired up as the previous owner had changed the intercooler hoses, I believe this sensor was fitted...

Took my F/L back in today for them to get it up on the ramp and check the 4WD out 15mins later I received an apology and he said they have a F/L coming in to strip for parts and the IRD will be fitted to my car at no extra charge. :D
