    Buying a freelander!!??

But what are the alternatives in the price range? Show me a car that has the combination of looks/image, off and on-road ability and price and I'll buy it. Rav-4... hairdressers' cars. X-Trail... old man's cars (I'm 28) X3... to expensive and not an off-roader X5... ditto Merc M class...

    Buying a freelander!!??

It all depends how much hassle you're prepared to take on to save some money... I do a lot of work on my own cars, mainly because I'm tight ;) , but also because I'm a pretty competent home-mechanic. A new window motor, for eg, costs about £75 and takes about 30 mins to fit. A network garage...

    Buying a freelander!!??

Hi... I've only had a freebie for a week, but will chuck in my penny's worth as I have very recent experience of the current market. Firstly, if it's a Y reg, it's not a 2002 model. 2002 goes from end of 51-reg to 52 reg. Secondly, what model is it? (ES, S, GS etc). Saw an 02 plate TD4...

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

Dinna worry fellas... got the ****a fixed witha load of araldite and a zip tie. The freebie has one last chance... only one. One other thing that goes wrong and the fecka's in autotrader. I pity anyone who owns one of these and isn't prepared to repair stuff themselves... must cost a fecking...

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

Had a Vectra once... they're supposed to be a piece of crap and built like a kid made them... it looked like it was built by Rolls Royce compared to the piece of junk on my drive at the moment. Got the window regulator out, but am disappointed to say that the plastic cable guides are...

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

I stand by what I say... my driver's side rear door window has just jammed down. Unbe-feckin-lievable.

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

Yah may be the fookin emprer of sum fookin distant planit, but on this friggin planit, when a car is built we expect a bit more than this sort of ****e. Funny how nay other car I know needs such baby-like attention...

    Wheel wobble

Just one tip that I was given a long time ago... Do not tell them what you've had checked already, so they double check everything that's already been checked. That way you're getting a completely fresh set of eyes on the job. Good luck.

    Wheel wobble

Had this a dozen times... it's always been the wheel balancing, especially at speeds like that, even when I've just had them allegedly balanced. Get another place to check the balancing before you spend money getting anything else checked. Also, check your wheel nuts are all tight and that...

    Warranty Direct

Anyone used these guys to extend the warranty on their freebie? Seeing as I feel like everything is going wrong with my beasty, it could definitely be time to invest in a policy with them... been quoted £500 for a Gold policy. Here are the details... GOLD for general details of cover see...

Hmmmm, mine doesn't seem to be broken anywhere like that...

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

Just had another look at it... Got it all the way open by using a screwdriver on the slot on the motor/gearbox and manually helping it along. It seems to be the right hand side that's knackered... I can move the sunroof back and forth on the right side a bit, so it appears to be jamming as a...

    Wheels Arggghh... can someone help?

Just had a look at a freebie in the dealers... brand new and has the same wheels as the "old" ones which don't fit mine properly.

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

I'll swap with you... Just spoke to a Landrover dealer... rails are £80 EACH(!) plus Vat. If it's the motor, they're a fair bit more. Most likely to be the rails though, apparently. Jesus, I hate this f*****g car already. If anyone has a cheap fix for theis problem, please fire away!

    Wheels Arggghh... can someone help?

Yes, it's true for any car that the bigger the spacers you use, the more stress on the studs. The 3mm ones I've got are about as big as I'd go to be honest and they're just to clear the brakes a bit more.

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

No problem mate... I would guess it's the same noise, as it sounds like the gears in the motor are grinding against each other. Surely the motor should stop as soon as resistance is felt? Clutchdust may be the man to help????

    Electric Sunroof.... jamming/juddering/grinding.

Sorry guys, i feel like I'm taking up the whole forum, with my constant problems, but you've all been a great source of help so far! This time it's the frigging sunroof. It's just jammed whilst I was out for a drive, after a look in the Haynes manual I got it shut by pressing the button...

    Wheels Arggghh... can someone help?

Mine are 16 inch too. The 18 inchers I was referring to were non-standard. Anyway, just bought some 3mm spacers, so fingers crossed that they sort the job out until I can lay my hands on some original wheels...

    Wheels Arggghh... can someone help?

Fancy some 16 inch Freedom wheels??? ;o) I have to say I am really ****ed off with this car already... Not because I was stupid enough to swap the wheels without checking them first, but because on top of a host of tiny annoying problems (interior lights, fron CV joint click etc) the...
