    Tyre opinions please....

Got Grabber AT2's on my 2004 TD5, 255/65/16 with no lift. They fill the arches and seem to work well on and off road. Been through all the snow in rural Oxfordshire and round the Abingdon 4x4 course several times with no problems... Steve :)

    Rear View Mirror

Bottom line is that the mirror you have is not designed for the Disco. Both mirrors I have fit the single black plug from the rooflining in your first pic.... I do actually have a spare auto dim mirror to fit a Disco but it only has one side cover for the mounting spigot. make me an offer and...

Hmmmm.................., I sort of see where your coming from, but my experience of the mirror compass is that it only changes the heading indication in 15 to 20 degree blocks. That's ok for a short distance and a rough indication of your heading when off road. I reckon I would certainly...

    Rear View Mirror

I suspect the final selling price for this will go up quite a bit higher - mine cost upwards of £70 from an e-bay seller. They are quite a popular mod for later D2's and the auto dim function works extremely well, the compass display is (in my opinion) a bit of a gimmick tho', S

    Rear View Mirror

Fitted such a mirror to my 2004 TD5 a couple of months ago. The wiring and plug was already in place, just took a bit of fishing around to find it, it can be quite far back under the headlining! The existing mirror can be removed from the screen by pulling downwards HARD!! on the arm. The new...

    Cheap Maf!

Put one in my 2004 TD5 about three months ago - seems fine so far. Seller appears o.k. and the MAF arrivied within about 5 days. I thought it might be worth a punt and so far so good................ Steve

    Interior mirror query

Hi all, I picked up an interior self-dimming /compass/temperature mirror off of e-bay to retro fit to my 2004 facelift disco2. The wiring was all in place behind the interior light fitting and the screen bracket was a straight swap. Sadly the mirror doesn't appear to power up when the ignition...

    Biting the bullet............!

Well she's got to go, it's bye bye to my Freelander. Have invested in a 2004 Disco 2 (TD5). Been fun (sort of) while it lasted, so if anyone is looking for a 2006 TD4 with Grabber AT2's and lots of extras she'll be on the for sale page soon..... Steve

    Anti Roll Bar Advice

Yep, track rod end - found some up and down movement in that, replaced it and no more thuds and bangs. Cost about £11 from local factors and about half an hour to do, Worth a go methinks..? (might need to redo the tracking afterwards tho') S

    Best Battery???

I've had an optima red top on my machine for the past five months. Saw me through the winter fun with no problems, using all the electrics a lot didn't seem to phase the thing at all. Got mine from Frog Island 4x4 when they had a sale on for £125. Not sure if the early models are the same...

    Good timing............?!

Could be :biggrin1:, on-road driving is a bit like trying to steer a canal barge at motorway speeds tho' !

    Good timing............?!

Took my car to friendly man for it's first MOT today (tuesday), he takes it for a brake test as per regulations. Car stops fine but proceeds to stall and deposit a gallon or two of diesel all over the Queens highway. Looks as if the (very expensive !) front fuel pump has given way. Nice people...

    hesitation on TD4

Standard problem with these vehicles, mine did it too (06 Adventurer). Do a general search on this forum and Google and the delights of Roverron, Synergy modules and MAF sensors will be revealed... A starter for ten for you Tuning-diesels for cheaper diesel tuning. Steve

So no helpful suggestions then......... just in-jokes and patronising comments from senior members and moderators no less. Good to see the forum hasn't changed :( Steve
