    freelander wheels

I'm suprised he offered you the old wheels most stealers put the ones the client has paid extra for on and then sell the oem ones through the back door, its extra cash for the salesman. My mate bought a new Impreza with optional 18's for an additional £1700 when he asked for the 17 oem wheels...

Your clutch master cylinder has failled by the sounds of it, its a complete unit attached to the clutch pedal and the bulkhead, at the rear of your engine you will see a black pot just to the right of your brake fluid resevoir this holds the fluid for the clutch and is attached to the clutch...

02 TD4 Pulsing under Light Throttle.

Removed the Roverron box and the car is fine again  I have now cleaned the K+N filter together with the MAF and i also cleaned the engine breather filter. I will put the TU3B box back on later in the week and see how it performs as the wife is now moaning about the lack of...

02 TD4 Pulsing under Light Throttle.

I knew after i had said we have had no major issues with her Freelander something would happen. Anyway, under light throttle loads her car has started to pulse, acceleration is fine all the way to 90mph and above if required, it idles spot on but after coming off the gas at say...

Thinking of selling TD4, anyone be interested?

Ian, you are correct in your thoughts, 2 pages gone and no serious post until now. The usual suspects should use the PM facility to talk cr#p to each other and stop clogging posts up with drivel. As you can tell it gets to me occasionally but expect more cr#p when they read this and come...

Freelander rear door window cable replacement.

The brake cable option is the only option i would take. I have done it on her drivers door window, yes it was fiddly but so rewarding knowing it cost less than £2 to fix. Its one of them jobs that when you have done it once it gets easier as you know what to expect and how to get round...

    Most useless Gaylander Mod

How about the engine temp sensor mod on the 1.8 to avoid HGF and then still suffering one. Not me personally as we have a TD4.

    ouch! bosted freelander

I bet there is some very very small print which states New for Old on a current model range only. They will offer market value or a replacement vehicle of similair age mileage etc. You wont get a Freelander 2 What is it they say '' You only find out how good or bad your insurance company...

    Td4 Clutch

So your gearbox is already out for warranty work and he wants £400+ for the clutch, yes if he had to remove the clutch as a one part job but not at that price as the gearbox is already out. Clutch is about £150 they should charge no more than £50 to fit it whilst they are doing the other work.

    ouch! bosted freelander

I'm glad we all agree that it aint no CAT A write off. Its repairable very easily im my opinion. Not cheap but your car is the face lift model which will still be worth a fair few quid, if they do offer a settlement figure my advice would be to then buy the vehicle off them and repair it...

    ouch! bosted freelander

That is never a CATA write off, there is no damage to the wheel as far as i can see which would indicate no drivetrain damage and the radiator looks perfect,i gaurantee that will be repaired, the chassis legs if damaged will be pulled no problem on a laser jig, the front is crumple zone and is...

    ouch! bosted freelander

That is repairable, its cosmetic damage. There isnt that much damage from the picture you have provided. It also looks like you drove it home, so again its panel damage which are easily changed. The airbags arent cheap which will add to the cost but it wont exceed vehicle value. Roughly...

Aerial fitment thingy on roof query

It can be drilled to allow the repair of the standard aerial but it is a pain to do. I've done it after she reversed out of the garage with the door not fully up causing the aerial to be snapped in two. You can just go and buy an aftermarket aerial as the OE version is £60 + Vat

    Colway Remoulds ?

My problem with heavy treaded tyres such as the Colways is the noise they create. I used Kuhmo tyres whick look very similair to the Colways but they are noisy at speed. I have just bought brand new Falken tyres for her TD4 from these guys Cheap Tyres Discount Tyres & Japanese Import Car Parts...

    Water through the interior light....

It wont be the roof bar mounts it will be coming in from the Roof Mount Aerial, its mounted directly above the interior light. Take the light out and you will see a 10mm nut which secures the aerial wire from your stereo to the actual aerial. Check its tight, if it is and still leaks remove...

    Cheap repair for starter motor

Not bad i admit but i had my Wifes starter re-conditioned with a 12 month warranty for £35 all in. I would always recon a starter at £150 + for a new one why bother. There are enough places that will do the work and for the cash saved by using the USA method plus the time the guy waited...

Freelander Cruise control help needed please

Yes most cars have all the wiring (Guts) already fitted, you just add the switches and then activate the relevant software with the system diagnostic tool. Manufacturers normally just make 1 wiring loom for all the cars. People then spend ££££ adding Cruise/ Heated seats...

Just a quick note. My Wifes MY02 TD4 needs new tyres, i was going to try the Colway's but she has some heavy treaded Khumo tyres on the rear of her car and they do not give me confidance at all in the wet and as a result was put off by the Colway AT's. I searched the web and also barted with...
