Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

Thank you Alibro. We have just changed the rear tyres and maybe that added to the problem. Will the vcu need changing too?

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

How much will this cost to fix, what's the cheapest way to do it? Car still starts with no obvious noises and can still engage the gears no problem

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

So what would be the best plan of action? Love my freelander but if the prop is not put back, how would that affect the insurance?

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

Ok thanks. My location is Sheffield UK. Is it likely to have caused any other damage?

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

Well i guess we've found what the problem was, Driving along today and the rear Diff started smoking and leaking oil. Can anyone recommend a place for refurbs and would it be sensible to replace the VCU at the same time? Thanks

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

Gosh that sounds a bit expensive. Had the rear tyres done a week ago but the problem was around before that. I've no idea what or how to do the one wheel up test. I'm not technically minded at all

Freelander 1 We seem to have a vibration 2006 td4

My Freelander Adventurer has developed a vibration. It on happens when we're travelling between 30-50 mph if we go faster it quietens down. No vibration on steering at all and sounds like front of the car. There's no powerloss and the tyres look fine

    The dreaded handbrake light

If it's the HB switch, is it a big job and a ball park figure for getting it done? if you wouldn't mind

    The dreaded handbrake light

Yes i've pressed the leaver down as far as it will go but it makes no difference. It's on a bout 4 clicks at the moment

    The dreaded handbrake light

Thanks for that. I shall continue to read up and pass on anything i find. Tis quite amazing the things you can find on here and even though i'm not in the slightest bit confident i'd be able to use anything i find due to lack of knowledge, at least i can point out what i've read. Thanks for all...

    The dreaded handbrake light

From what the mechanic said, he took the mechanisms apart and gave them a good clean. I don't believe anything was replaced on the brakes. I've not had the chance to pop back up yet but have been doing some reading on here, just to get things to suggest to him. He seems very knowledgable and i...

    The dreaded handbrake light

Yes it was done at Elite Landrovers in Sheffield. I've just spoken to him and he thinks it may be a damaged switch or something, i think he said its around the drivers side somewhere. If this is something i could do myself then what would i need to do?

    The dreaded handbrake light

Thank you. Fluid seems ok. Is there a switch of any kind that may have gone and if so where would i find it?

    The dreaded handbrake light

Took my Freelander 1 td4 in to have the handbrake done. It seems to have fixed it, it was almost non-existant before but holds better now. After driving home the handbrake light came on and now won't go off. Any help please? but remember I'm only a beginner

Had my td4 for about 9 months. It's always had a rattle from the tailgate window. Is there a way to fix this please?

got a feeelander adventura td4 2.0 on 06 plate and have a clutch problem

Grrr sorted out a gearbox relatively cheap and that's getting sorted next week but on the way home from having the car looked at, we now have a handbrake light on the dashboard. It seems to be holding ok , any ideas as to what that may be?

got a feeelander adventura td4 2.0 on 06 plate and have a clutch problem

Right so i've been in for a pre booking just to get some idea what's going on, turns out it's the 1st synchromesh that's failing, a new gearbox needed. Is it just a straight swap or are there certain versions that will fit? I forgot to ask him.

got a feeelander adventura td4 2.0 on 06 plate and have a clutch problem

Yeah that's what I thought. First time I've used a fully fledged land rover place but he did come across ok. Anyone else used Elite landrovers in deepcar Sheffield?

got a feeelander adventura td4 2.0 on 06 plate and have a clutch problem

Got it booked in for Feb 7th, hopefully it will last that long. Told him was was said on here and he said fine but wants to check first to make sure there's nothing else going off. Said it may be a leak or slave cylinder or the master cylinder
