Iv got one of those standard land rover stereo mounts in my 90. the one where the stereo is slotted in at an angle above the rear wash wipe controls. Iv taken my stereo out and removed the screws at the base of the plastic month but cant get it out. It just slides left and right and seems to...

I can hear the induction noise through mine a tad but not to the level you describe.
