think it depends on what sort of "off roading" your doing if your doing P+P there is normally an easy way to do thing,s but if your venturing out in the wilderness you need to know a bit more. id say go for a pay play day do a novice route then build from there or come out with a few of us and...

ive made a plate type guard but have been killing time at work and stumbled accros this on ebay 290394249365 seemed reasonble but if the one i made is better 4 the job then ill stick with that

are the tubular type steering guards as good as plate type steering defender/guard? random 1 i know!

welcome by the way!!:welcome2: id look at y its getting air in the system? may be lift pump or even the seal on ur fuel filler cap or the chassis may have pinched a fuel line. or try the filter in the top of the lift pump...sounds like your fuel is running back to the tank. try also bleeding it...
