I had a squeak in the rear of mine, turned out to be the rear seats locking mechanism. Put some insulating tape on the locking pins, job done, squeak gone.

I think what he is saying is :- when diff lock engaged he is only getting drive to rear wheel with leat resistance & no drive at all to front, instead of 1 rear wheel turning AND 1 front turning

Could be that due to gradient all oil at front of sump (shallow end) and maybe getting into cylinders 1 & 2 due to worn cylinders, piston rings, & oil scrapers. Possibly, maybe, could do.

You'll probably find the immobiliser/ alarm unit is at fault

Sounds like either master cylinder or air in system, if servo gone then pedal would still be firm but require a lot of pressure to work brakes. To test servo, pump pedal till hard at top, keep pressure on pedal then start engine. If pedal moves down then servo is working.

I'd be checking for play in steering box first, rock steering wheel from side to side and how much movement you have before wheels move

I posted in another thread, I was having loads of issues with my 300 tdi es, under dash on passenger side ( above footwell) there is a green box fastened to the drop down relay tray. I changed this and all is 100%. You do however need the fob to go with it cost me 20 quid.

Just changed same unit on mine due to alarm / locking issues. It's the green box mounted to relay bracket under glove box on passenger footwell. You will need the key fob for it or will have to get one programmed to it.

Sounds like either a leak on air intake or a vacuum pipe off somewhere

UPDATE, Ok, so today I got hold of a good used alarm control unit with key fob. It is the green unit under the dash in the passenger footwell and all is well. The alarm an immobiliser now perform exactly how they should, I also got the siren unit from engine bay and it also makes all the right...

Yeah, all indicators and hazard work perfect, it's just when it's locked, sometimes it acts up after five minutes other times it will be lock and left 2 or 3 days before lights come on

Have you noticed if you have small patch of coolant under car after it's been parked a while, ie overnight. As this would suggest water pump us, you would not notice while engine running.
