Thanks, should sound quite nice with the centre pipe I made up - that removes the centre silencer! :D Ewww cats - now why would you want to fit those?:D

Got the exhaust manifolds fitted. Again!!! Then I couldn't help myself and fitted the rest of the exhaust. :o Anyone want some almost complete V8 engine? :D:D:D

    3.5L Top End Rebuild

More tinkering. I got the oil pump on, should have done this while the timing cover was on the bench! Trying to check the gap and then fill it with vaseline and then clean it off, fit the gasket, do the bolts up. Argh! Only slightly related to the engine, but got the exhaust manifolds...

Turbo Charging a V8 advice needed

Potentially risky trying to find two used good turbos that are suitable. Or buy new or buy used and get refurb'd. Lots of options depending how you want to do it. Although anything can be done given enough time and looking in the right scrap yard or garage. ;) If you went supercharged, then...

Turbo Charging a V8 advice needed

Waterproofing is just one of many benefits of megasquirt - what do you think is unnecessary? You can MS your V8 for cheaper if you buy the bare minimum, source parts yourself, fabricate mounts, solder PCBs and wire the loom yourself etc. But those kits are complete and include everything you...

Turbo Charging a V8 advice needed

As above, zen is the chap you need to have a word with regards to boosted Rover V8s. (He's got a supercharged 4.6 using an M112. Fantastic!!!) Ignoring all the "blah blah its easier to get more power with a different engine" and going on the basis that this is a project you want to do...

    3.5L Top End Rebuild

I've got tin head gaskets and a composite valley gasket. Front two bolts in? No, as you look at the picture the bolt on the right hand side is screwed in a few threads - fits nicely. The bolt on the left hand side you can't even get the thread started as the hole in the inlet manifold is too...

    3.5L Top End Rebuild

No idea what you're talking about! :D:rolleyes:;) Rigghhhttt okay. Got the sump on - what a pain! You could eat your dinner off the inside of this sump - its spotless. Slight issue... because the heads have been skimmed (and I don't know how much either) then the inlet manifold...

    Fuel pump screws

Kinda what I assumed, rather than 5x 12mm long but unknown size machine screws. :o Don't think I have any spare M5 laying around... will have to get some!:rolleyes:

    3.5L Top End Rebuild

Thank you! :D I'll make sure to check!:lol::lol: Wanted to get the oil pump gears in and the pump cover on but it seems I didn't order a new pressure relief spring when I got my last lot of bits. So that will be with us some time in the week hopefully. I'll fit the gears and...

    The none rebuild, rebuild thread.

I think I'd prefer dealing with just a rotten chassis than all the rotten body work on a RRC. There's just so much... Nice work so far! :D

    3.5L Top End Rebuild

Got a few things bolted on today. :) Water pump on and then found, cleaned and painted the power steering pump bracket - the original reason for tearing the engine apart. Then I went too far! :o (i am aware there are some missing bolts on the water pump.) Push rods and rocker arms installed...

    Fuel pump screws

So someone is a muppet and misplaced the bag labeled 'Fuel pump screws to fuel tank'. :o I don't suppose anyone knows the size of the machine screws that hold the fuel pump to the fuel tank on a '88 RRC? :( Might as well replace them with stainless ones while I'm fitting a new fuel pump and...

What have you done to your Landie today.

I have a spare sump from another V8. So I removed it and cleaned it inside and out. Painted the outside as well. Will be fitting that tomorrow once I've cleaned the oil pick up. So the insides of this engine are pretty clean considering its been stripped to its block everything cleaned...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Got the new 3.9 camshaft, timing chain, camshaft gear and crankshaft gear installed and timed in. Got the timing cover on and bolts torqued down and then the 10 bolt cylinder heads on with tin gaskets. Bolts to be torqued down tomorrow. :D
