I've decided to put my 90 project up for sale, as I've found a Disco I want instead. I bought this as a non-runner, with the intention of putting it back on the road and using it to tow my horse trailer to pony club stuff for my eldest daughter. In the meantime the missus bought a horse...

My 19j was a sod to start after I put it all back together. Bled the system through, manually filled the fuel filter with diesel, checked timing and stuff... Cranked with a whiff of easy-start, and she fired and ran nicely.

I've bought and sold stuff on here, and never had a problem. If I was selling stuff, and someone says first dibs, then I would put 'sold subject to collection/payment' on the thread.

I had the same with the starter on my 19j. Replaced with one from Eurocarparts. It lasted 3 months. They replaced it under warrantee. Apparently new starters are hellishly expensive, so most are reconditioned. If you want to bench test the one you have, run a wire from the battery...

Had and fitted a couple of them now. They're brilliant.

They made 50th anniversary versions of the D90, Disco and p38 I think. My dad had a Defender version. Very nice it was too. I THINK they made 500 of each one. There should be a plate inside telling you they're number.

Why? I'd have to hand out magnifying glasses first.

Have you checked the pipes internally? They may be collapsing at higher revs, restricting airflow.
