same bypass as your picture.I only ever get a groan/rumble type noise just after start up,no other time.Thats why I think it'll be the alternator.

not blanked,I bought a bypass kit and junked the egr.not really a duck noise,more a low pitched groan.

ah,thats made me think.I've bypassed the egr on mine.But I sometimes get a groaning noise (not quite fog horn) after start up,which I assumed was the alternator singing its death song.The noise only last about 30 seconds or so.

mines also HSE,theres a blank switch to the right of steering wheel,next to the switch that disables the rear parking sensor,just above the glove box.I've got my eye on that as a back up position.No idea whats behind untill I get there. It'll be interesting to see where others have put theirs.

Sitting in neutral, engine running. I've just been out in it and it does do it in all gears, tho less so in lower gears which I suspect means its speed related( revs not nec mph).
