    Classic height sensors

No change in part number for these sensors(2 x ANR1853) The ‘94 parts catalogue actually covers 95 models as there were no changes for ‘95. The catalogue is specific that it covers MA chassis prefixes from 647645. I am told that when a sensor has ‘sat down’ it can be necessary to jack up the...

    Classic eas fault

Don’t apologise for length of post, you have been busy and it is worrying because who knows when any of us might get a similar issue? I was going to say that you are welcome to use my EAS kicker if we can arrange a meet but I don’t think it would do anything that you haven’t tried. Interesting...

    Did you get sorted?

    Early Workshop and Parts manuals

Did you get sorted? I have an original hard copy RTC9018D March 1978 parts catalogue which covers suffixes A-F which I will happily copy you pages out of, if there is something you need details of, and an RTC9846CH (reprint)covering model years 1970-1985 which I recently bought from Amazon...

    Intermittent air suspension warning.

I know it’s becoming repetitive but diagnostics will tell you, I am using an EAS kicker on a 94 Classic and it will tell me which height sensor has which fault. The later range rovers will plug into lots of diagnostic kits but only some will be able to translate the fault code correctly.

Classic LSE Not So Rolling Resto and Discovery 300Tdi Daily

Fascinating to see the photos you have uploaded. Maybe I’ll get around to uploading some of mine now! Did you get the EAS sorted? How about the seat ECU? I by-passed my seat ECU for a while with some toggle switches and long lengths of wire. Bought a replacement ECU cheap off eBay and now only...

Classic Details on Fault Code Readers for a Classic

Okay, so you may have seen my thread regarding fixing the EAS on my 94 LSE. Flushed with my success I set about thinking what else might I need a code reader for? I have the on board device, built in, which reads the engine ECU. I have the EAS Kicker. I believe that I can ‘fix’ the SRS airbag...

Classic Classic Air Suspension ECU Tool

The steel was awful but that was common across BL. By protection are you talking about impact protection or anti-rust? I was warned not to buy a P38 because they have lots of unreliable electronics so I bought a late classic where they beta tested all that unreliable electronics but hey, if we...

Classic Classic Air Suspension ECU Tool

What a delightful thought. Avoiding the obvious distinction that a Series iii sits on leaf springs, it’s good to be recognised as Land-Rover owners with style. It’s fair to say that Land Rover got lots of things wrong with the Classic, but the biggest error was clearly replacing it with the P38...

Classic Classic Air Suspension ECU Tool

The air compressor failed and I replaced it but the air suspension remained deflated. I considered the excellent looking advice that I found on carelect.demon.co.uk but in the end decided against the short term workaround of removing the ECU and shorting out to each corner in turn so I settled...

    Hello all! Beginner advice needed!

I echo Saxavordian’s point about knowing why you are buying a Landy. I am on my third (5th if you include the 2 that my dad had and that I learnt to drive in and worked on) and I have had great pleasure from all of them. I am old fashioned and prefer Landrovers with a solid chassis that you can...

    Introducing a Traditionalist

I removed the bull bar in order to change a headlamp bulb (and while I was on I replaced the bonnet release cable, what a job that was!). The bottom of the verticals, just above where they bolted to the chassis, were rotten. I didn’t know anyone who wanted a bull bar at the time so it didn’t...

    Introducing a Traditionalist

Well there wasn’t a great deal wrong with it but I guess leaving it with my garage to knock out the odd minor dent, remove the odd blemish and lose the bull bar was bound to result in him repainting every panel. I am sure it didn’t shine like that when it was new!

    The track well trodden

Fuel stops are few and far between in the very North of Scotland so make sure you fill up whenever you see a pump. Down to Inverness is quicker but round by Durness/ Ullapool is fantastic scenery. I frequently do Inverness to Derby in 7 hours driving time (A9, across to Glasgow, M74, M6 then...

    Introducing a Traditionalist

It seems that the metal braided hydraulic clutch pipe was bouncing against the positive of the starter motor all the way through Kielder Forest. Result? Little burn holes in the pipe, highly inflammable hydraulic fluid and sparks! Still it's back together now, lots of fun in the summer but not...

Looks like the Apple Gods are aligned tonight. Look forward to getting some better photos soon, oh and this is the TR7V8 in it's traditional state.
