    How much jesus ???

The listing says it's white. Maybe he was trying to say something else that rhymes.

    Clattering noise

Clattery noise could also be an exhaust heat shield come adrift. However as stated above if it's a clunk and from the front.

    P38 3.9 v8 not starting.

That's the warning light to tell you it's in low range. It should flash and beep three times as it's changing over from one range to the other while in neutral.

    Starting problem

Two and a half gallons, 12 litres or so isn't much really. You've probably just wet the bottom of the tank. It might take another couple to properly submerge the pick up if it hasn't been run for a while. Remember too that fuel tends to lie in the lines when a car isn't running but is in...

    Battery change

I tried a Halfords battery in mine recently. Wouldn't fit. The lip around the whole bottom edge prevented it from going into the base plate. Had to go elsewhere for one without the lip.

    Starting problem

Start from the back and go forward. Check the fuel pick up pipe, the filter could be choked and all you are doing is pumping air or creating a vacuum. Work forward and check the lines for blockages or holes (it's a pressurised system and if there is a hole there is no pressure). Is the fuel...

    Mot

In other words buy an EU made car on credit (keeps us funding Europe and the banks in credit) with the promise of free or cheap tax and the when you are tied in, scrap the free tax and revert to the PLG grouping (money in the Treasury). Clever, eh? Fortunately a lot of the new MOT regs don't...

    Battery change

Watch out for the inscribed date and batch code on the casing though. They can tell which shop supplied it and roughly when irrespective of the receipt details................They call it fraud prevention.

    Rear window

There will be a relay that is triggered by the door handle that sends power to the motor to wind it down a little bit. Check and clean the connections etc. I don't know whether it's separate or part of the circuitry inside the motor itself though.

    V8 oil consumption

Has it got worse over a period or have you not had the car long? Check inside the distributor cap too in case it's winding up the spindle and dribbling out. I know it's a completely different engine but years ago I had a Sierra Cosworth and that was the manufacturer's 'acceptable' oil...

    Rear window

Could be the cable ready to snap. Best check it sooner rather than later. You can change them using a bike brake cable. It's fiddly but only a couple of £ otherwise the whole thing comes as a new motor with cable attached!

    Rear window

Just a thought, if it has been frosty when you have opened it you could have pulled it slightly up out of it's channel if the window had stuck agaist the seal. From memory they are just clamped along a flat channel with a couple of 10mm bolts holding them. While you are in the back door give the...

    P38 Alarm issues

Won't necessarily stop the fault messages or actually immobilising the vehicle thinking it has been tampered with. Best plug it in to deactivate, unless you fix it of course.

    Ignition Problem

Try a squirt of switch cleaner - NOT WD40 or branded equivalent - in the keyhole and work it a few times. You may find that the slides and contacts inside have got a bit gummed.

    Front to rear brake pipes

......cymbals! Disconnected pipe 22 at the master with the rear end off the ground, slackened bleed nipple on rear right, assistant pressed brake and nothing at caliper end. Plenty fluid on the cloth under the bonnet though. Connected all back up again, fitted my new calipers all round and...

Perfect, I'd get the torch out now and check but I think I can wait until tomorrow. Thanks, I'll update once checked.

4.6 HSE EAS funny intermitent fault?

The sensors are the spindly dog leg things connecting the axles to the body. Nowhere near the airbags really. The EAS pump is inside a black box on the left side under the bonnet (Opposite the battery and fuse box). There is a removeable filter on the front of it you could check is clear but...

Alternator fault message when first switched on

I had the same a couple of years ago. The alternator was on it's way out. Same message but as I drove everything dimmed in a couple of miles. Was putting out 14.4V the next day after I recharged the battery then the same thing happened. Warranty kicked in and new alternator fitted however could...
