Just to finish off what I started. A/Flux would not match the £216.00[been with them for nearly 20yrs] quote so the landy will now be insured with Footman James.

I have two vehicles insured with A/F Westfield sports car quote from a/f = £170.00 I spoke to them about cost, re quoted £120.00 .good result. Landover quote from a/f = £420.00 just got another quote from Footman James £216.00 I shall ring a/f on Monday and we shall see??

I don't think emissions work on the age of the car,,only on the age of the engine. pre 1984 engines[you would have to check] are I think exempt from emission testing, only visual inspection is required.

Hi All I noticed today that the viscous fan on my defender 200tdi had fell off and was wedged inside the cowling[no damage done]. I replaced the fan back onto its spindle but could find no way to tighten it down[ as the spindle and fan rotate together under pressure] .,or secure it in place. So...

Could be an Airlock in the system.

Yep I can not find much info on conversions, there is the big Cummins 6.2l but with the myriad of diesels available[Merc,Nissan,Toyota,Peugeot, Ford etc. there must be more??
