Hi peeps, TD5 auto, fully charged battery, new glow plugs about 15000 miles ago, shes done 105k all together. I turn the key and dont even get a click,whir or anything, its as if you try and start an auto in 'D' when it only works in 'P', so should i investigate any electrickity under the gear...

So where does the relay sit then is it not by my right knee below steering column (rhd car), would it freeze in there? Thanks for your long shot none the less

Nope she seems to start up fine new battery last year, only does it when really cold weather. As for bodily parts not working, i started running the other week to loose some weight, chuff me not as young as i was, knees feel like someone elses! Thanks for the replies

only in colder temps do my indicaters delay working, can move stick and it can be a full 10 secs before it starts working? Cheers mates for any help!

My TD5 did this it was stuck buttons, no need to take cover off s/wheel just ensure buttons sit central in there holes as they do move about a bit. Good luck noisey!

A wild card but have the injectors been coded correctly, did they go back where they came from when you did the washers? Im not up on things like this but im sure this was mentioned when mine was puffin smoke and a underpowered, search my posts there may be more ideas.

I dont think it matters, easier to do cold so you dont get burnt fingers, i fell down on the 5 cylinders but only 4 plugs trap, I didnt know the 5th cylinder was a slave, clever buggas these TD5's, luckily someone on here put me right.

Some say they dont need doing but I had mine done and it was sooooo smooth afterwards, check www.discovery2.co.uk out, and make sure you change the inner metal filter as well, mine was very silted up. Good luck

If its a TD5 try Dynachip profesional ecu remapping although i think he does um all. Search on LZ for dynachip, there aint many people on here that dont sing his praises.

in my case it was defo no more than £1500, just a tosser of a sales man then, pity the wife liked the car so much after weeks of looking, i would of walked if it was just me.

On a colder morning this week i put my heated windscreen on as I understand this clears the wing mirrors as well, after a few mins they seemed to be still misted up, is there a fuse to these, I have a red light on the button? TD5 aute es. Cheers for the help, M
