    yep defo fuel pump ,wasnt runing with ignition on but started to run after a thump:) think i will go for oem pump, less hassle in the long run i think

    hi my 2004 td4 wouldnt start this morning after a 2 or three thumps on the under arch fuel pump it started,been ok all day,only done 65000 miles so is this the expected life of the pump?also are the aftermarket pumps worth buying or stick to origanal?

    :eek: have the same noise on mine at 50 55 mph back of slightly on pedal and noise goes .noise been there for over ayear now also had new clutch,flywheel and release bearing for different problem but the noise is still there.cant tell if its ird or gearbox bearing but noise hasnt got any...

    as i said before in diffrent post almost inpossible to get rid of all oil in cooling system, always comes back in header tank.also oil in cooling system also damages the coolant hoses so keep an eye on them they tend to turn realy soft .been in trade for 30yrs now and never found quick cure for...

    oil cooler

    just remove the coolant hoses from the oil cooler and join together with a pipe.as long as you dont thrash the engine it will give you time to elimanate the oil cooler.cleaning out all the oil from the cooling system is near impossible but keep an eye on oil level,try and flush the oil cooler...

    ive got an 04 sport with 235/50/18 wheels,i just purchased 15 inch steel wheels of ebay and fitted 195/80/15 tyres to keep the speedo reading the same and insa turbo dakar tyres to keep cost down.steel wheels fit all models exept fl2:)

    4 new tyres

    just got 4 steel wheels of fleebay and fitted with 195/80/15 insa turbo dakar tyres for winter and maybe a little off roading:D tried them on and wow what a change,no tightness whe when pulling away and less tightness when on full lock.put this down to my standard 18 inch tyres being 3/4 worn...

    if running in 2wd then put the new AT on front then when funds allow put two on rear and then a vcu that way the newer tyres are on the rear when you fit the new vcu.

    thanks for the info the seller i was looking at said you only need them on the rear [10mm] just goes to show all the missleading info out there. anyway im now looking at 15 inch steel wheels for the winter,does any year fit my 2004 td4 sport many thanks

    thanks for the reply but mines is a freelander 1.i just heard that wheels from certain years wont fit unless you fit spacers to the rear wheels only.dont want to waste my money if they wont fit many thanks:) mike

    might be a silly question but did the shafts come with the abs rings on?
