Had a few problems with my clutch change I also changed master and slave, but I used a pressure bleeding unit because these vehicles are notorious for being a pain to bleed out.

I did mine last year complete clutch, I found it easier to take the engine out.

I have the same engine in a 1994 disco, and yes it runs allot cooler than you would expect, family members always complain about the heater.

I had the binnacle to bit’s this afternoon checked bulb as suggested all ok there, so as discool has suggested a new relay will be installed mine has 5 spades, as you say two circuits , one is working other is not. Thank you for your help I will report back once I have new relay in.

I don't know much about rev counters all can tell you is some a driven by the electrics and some are driven by cable, what is wrong is simply a process of elimination, if it's electrical I would guess maybe the unit is at fault, if it's cable again the unit bearing maybe

I ordered from the bay a slave cylinder for my 1994 200tdi discovery, it arrived today my question is what length should the cylinder be from the flat where you screw into to the front where the rubber bung goes over, I have measured and it appears to be just over 4” / 105cm

You barely have to touch the pedal, does seem like the pressure plate.

When I twist the output shaft that serves the front axle on the transfer box there is play, it moves side to side, put a little bit more pressure on the twist and it moves a little further, sort of stops then moves the extra bit if you understand what I mean, the coupling on the axle does the same.

I take it your heater plugs are working
