    At the bulkhead end of the engine you have the two small heater matrix pipes connected to the matrix, be careful when you lift the engine out that you don’t bash the matrix pipes that protrude , also when putting it back they can brake then you have another job to do.

    You have pressure in the rocker box, do you also have pressure in the expansion tank, Personally I would plump for head gasket, I have seen LR heads where the gasket has gone but just missed water ways, did one like that about 6 years ago.

    Just take your time and weld it up, make sure that all metal to be welded is spotlessly clean, don’t have your welder turned up to high, do some trial welding on some scrap so you get the feel, it all fit together like a puzzle.

    The discovery 300 clutch master cylinder has a different plunger arm fitting that the 200, the 200 has a hoop to fit the clutch pedal, so change the plunger!!! Tried that the 300 plungers is pressed into the inner sleeve that also holds the seals, so can’t change the plunger.
