How bigs the step?

Just tried fitting an a-bar I picked up for my '96 90, it fitted fine to the standard bumper and bumper fittings, however there is very little/no clearence between the spot light mounts and the plastic grill cover, and therefore no clearence when the spots are mounted, to the point of pretty...

This is it it starts fine and there is no apparent loss of power from the batt, my mate checked it up at the garage and said the batts fine, so need to just monitor it for the next week. Ive noticed that the warning light isn't fully illuminated like the handbrake light for example, its just a...

Well I was going to run all the standard car needs on one and then run a leisure batt for spots, winch, and other bits and bobs?

Steve-c ur right just checked the batt and its fine, so anyone reccomend a alternator at a good price, I'm going to install a split charge system at the same time so does this make any diff to the alternator I should be thinking of getting?

Griffdowg, I'll give that a go, it has been standing a bit recently whilst being worked on so it may well have discharged a bit. Kwhajh, yeah starts and fires fine, i expected after 1st noticing it for it to struggle to fire the next morning but no probs, I'll see what an overnight charge does!

On start-up my battery light stays illuminated, but if I give it some revs the light goes out??? Any ideas??? I haven't checked anything yet.

Well initially just a few gadgets, kettle, laptop etc, but a winch in the end?

I'm installing a split charge system, but looking at various kits they all have different amp ratings, what sort of amp rating do I need to get? :confused:

So the whole runner lifts out with the seat thus giving access to the old battery hatch? Are there no defender specific runners on the market that allow access to the battery?

Ah I see, so it clips in at the back then bolts down at the front?

I was under the impression that you couldn't get access to the batteries once the buckets runners were in? Do you have to unbolt the seat the take the whole seat out for access?

Ok people, I'm in the process of gutting and re-building the inside of my 300tdi 90, the standard seats are going to be replaced with buckets, which means I'll need to move the battery to an accessable location, so my first question is where have people located theres, was it the right location...

I had a problem with my wipers not resetting when I picked my 300tdi up the other week, took the fuse out, manually adjusted the wiper position, put fuse back in and bingo, job done! Worth a try?!

I've had all the ply cut for the back of the 90 today, and also had a Hornet Cat 1 System installed courtesy of Gap Security, top job it is too!

Mad Hat Man that link was really useful, I wasn't aware there were quite so many, that site answers a few questions for other power requirements I'll have at a later date too!

The Mad Hat Man, is there any difference between the two connectors apart from not being inter-connectable, eg usage, rating etc?

I'm looking to fit my Anderson Connector, but where to fit it is the question, so where have you fitted yours, and was it the right place?
