I've wired in my split charge system, and all I need to do now is get the batteries sorted. I've got a 9500lbs winch to run off the leisure battery, a transformer to run a laptop and a couple of 12v aux ports, but looking at batteries they all have different ratings, what rating should I be...

I'm looking at getting a GPS system, I've got a TomTom, but looking for something that will work off the main roads, anyone got any suggestions that wont break the bank, could even be laptop based, but if so what software/hardware do you use? Any suggestions welcomed :)

I heat gunned the stripes of my elise when I get that and it wasnt to bad a result but that was a never vehicle. Bright orange looks good, you've got me thinking now coz that looks mad, and I like something a bit different!

...I'm going to get a roof tent for my 90, however do you need to get a special roof rack to accomodate a roof tent, or can any rack act as the base for a roof tent?

The alternator is done, needed a new one so got it uprated at the time, can u recommend a split chrage sytem that doesnt break the bank? Anyone reccomend batteries?

OK, I've finally got round to fitting the winch to the bumper, and am now in the process of how to wire it, do I go for the split charge system, if so what batterys, or do I just upgrade the existing battery, if so what too? :confused: I need to power a 9,500lb winch, a light bar, CD player...

MrJC, I tried it with the shims this morning, but theres just too much pressure on the grill, and I dont want to stress it too much as I've just put an uprated intercooler behind it, might have to fabricate something new!
