I didn't think it made a difference but I saw someone post somewhere that they had to put it back on normal springs and coils when going for the MOT

Would fitting a 2" lift kit have any effect on an MOT? Is there any reason you can fail an MOT by having a lift kit with 2" shockers/springs?

The guy in the toureg was following the lads in defenders about and trying to do the same routes, or that's what it looked like every time I saw him. Think he might of gotten a bit too cocky and tried going through the lake and that's when his car died. No more Parkwood until Feb next year :(...

Have you checked the connections going into the starter motor? Tied jump starting? Any noises when it turns over? Clicks or anything or just nothing?

Is there any noise when trying to turn the key over?

Few days ago and it looked fine to me but the suspension was working fine, just a few knocks from the far side rear end as the casing has corroded. The drivers side shock (the one pictured) as far as I know or have noticed only happened at some point today as I noticed the car was very bouncy...

Fixed it, just called the AA and the guy was a greenlaner. He used an extension pipe and hit it with a hammer whislt I started the enginer and it started straight up. There was a load of twigs, mud and dirty water stuck in there :)

Thanks for your replies. It's a manual, I'm going to try remove the piping and try get to it. It might just be full of mud. Failing that I'm just gonna give up and ring the AA and have them tow me to a garage :-(

Ok so I've cleaned everything apart from the starter. I can't get to the starter to try clean it or have a look at the solenoid as there are some pipes in the way. Does anyone know how to gain access to the starter motor in a disco 1?

Cleaned my starter motor still won't start. There is a clicking sound coming from underneath or near the glove box when I try switch the engine on. Any ideas?
