    Removing bull bar

Hi there, I am having trouble removing the bull bar in the pictures. I can see 2 nuts just above the nuts for the front bumper (on the inside of the bumper where you remove the nuts for the plastic trim) but one of these nuts won't budge. It isn't rusted on, and it isn't rounded. Yet when...

    auf_wiedersehen_pet's build thread.

Having trouble actually removing my bull bar? I followed this thread and assumed that if I removed my license plate I could get to the bolts but as you see in the picture there isn't anything there on mine?? Any ideas on how to remove? I'd like to remove the bull bar and trim my bumper.

    auf_wiedersehen_pet's build thread.

Haha I was just reading away waiting for my primer to dry but in this weather I regret even trying!! Going back out in a minute to take off my front bumper

I just sat through 79 pages of awesomeness. Great thread mate, stunning car!!

    Which Disco?

That's because they are seriously cheap cars! A solid Disco is hard to find but unless you are being ripped off you don't need to part with much cash for one. I'd be more inclined to go for the 300TDi but then again I've never been overlanding so I can't say which is better, I can only assume.

    Which Disco?

Disco 1's are either 200TDi or 300TDi. A disco 2 is a TD5. A lot more refined, also a lot more to fix. An automatic involves more electrics (usually) so a lot more can go wrong. I'd be partial to buying a standard Disco and fixing it up yourself rather than buying one that someone has built and...

    Reversing camera

I had one on a boxer van so no back door window, and as soon as you engaged reverse it was displayed on the rear view mirror. It was mounted at the very top of the door inside it's own little concave. Think with fitting it was only £200-250 can't really remember. Was nifty though.

    Pay and play days

I really doubt it. Almost everyone goes to Pay and Plays on weekend. Maybe your best bet it to book a day off of work?

I will do mate, thank you!

    Rear bumper lights

Thanks for the help! I have indicators and side lights and brake lights on the main body of the car, but the actual lights within the rear bumper just don't work at all. Side, indicators, brake... nothing. Wondered if it was wiring problems. Does the wiring for those lights run underneath the...

    Rear bumper lights

Any obvious reason why the lights in my rear bumper don't work? I have a 300TD 1995 Disco. Side lights and brake lights work fine but none at all work within the actual rear bumper.

Light bar - done and fitted

Where does all the wiring go? Though the headlining or down past the snorkel into engine bay?

    Disco 3.5 v8i (92)

Have you checked all your fuses and what's the fuel filter like? When you got it started before did it drive really shuddering as if it was stalling? If you'e getting fuel into the engine you'll need to check the electrical spark is getting to your spark plug.

    Starter Motor?

Where the end of the cable fits to the battery... The other end ideally goes underneath a nut that's on the main body of your chassis (that's why there is a hole, for the nut. Pop the end of the cable down, put the nut through the whole and the bolt on top to secure it.) so the longer cable is...

    locked out of my disco

I find it amusing the amount of stolen land rover threads there are and people still give out information on how to get into them...

    Starter Motor?

Any size, it just needs to go from the battery to a piece of clean metal on your chassis. When my starter motor went I cleaned all the earth/connector cables and it was fine. I'd just been to a pay and play and it was clogged with mud and leaves. Usually a good clean will fix them :)

    Rear Shock Absorbers

Stupid question, but does the assembly of this shock look correct?

Disco prices are all over the shop!

You can pick up a decent 300 for £4-500 in May/June. I bought mine in November for £1650 but the TD5s range from £200-4000 depending on body/chassis and mileage etc. If you look hard enough you can find a decent TD5 for about £1800.
