Yes check oil level and can be release bearing if you can get to it give it a squirt with oil.

Pressure wash off the oil and take it for a run then put cardboard under the box and see were the drips are in the morning etc. That oil could be from an old leak thats been fixed or you may have a few.

You need to treat the rust first or cut out and weld a plate in then you can waxoyl but you can't put it over rust that won't solve the problem.

12.8v is a fully charged battery it sounds like a lazy starter motor not giving enough and draining the battery on cranking. Try cleaning the leads and make a good earth if all ok replace starter motor.

Besides all the other posts wanting you to spend a fortune on enhancing performance, have you got a sticking brake? What i mean first thing in morning it sticks till worked off then can work ok so will be slow on the uptake.

I expect they will have drained the box oil and changed the filter too so all the old burnt oil will be gone and nice smooth changes now.

You could fit a relay with a nice big wire so it charges ok like they fit in camper vans for the leisure battery same priciple really. Then take feeds off that for your various other equipment.
