sounds like the becm has lost its sync with the key, I'm afraid it's possibly a main dealer jobbie. Post a link to this thread in the Range Rover section, there may be someone close to you with the relevant software. Or you could take BOBs advice lol

Battery knackered, on the RR the battery NEEDS to be perfect. Are you inputting the code correctly, you need to precede the sequence with I believe 4 key movements to the left and back to center first.

For a start do a search on keycode in the range rover forum. If you have the keycode it's a simple operation described perfectly in the owners manual, if you don't have the keycode then you will have to visit a main dealer with the logbook and they will give it to you.

Shame that cos if you've got a Landie your gonna spend a lotta time here :D

OK, at least we now know it's an 88 not a 96 :confused: but were gonna need more info than that, what have you tried, first thing have you got fuel to the injectors and have you a good spark at all plugs, whilst it's dark get someone to spin the engine over while you're looking under the bonnet...

Forgot to say about price, given the low miles on yours I would reckon around 5K repaired, as is about 1.5K, no brainer really is it.

Second that, the box is about the most reliable thing on a P38 :D

common problem I'm afraid, it's sulking :D. It's a v8 and will need a decent battery, my guess is yours isn't delivering enough, cold weather has a habit of sussing poor batteries.

When I rebuilt my V8 I used a Holley with a secondary metering kit mated to an offi manifold also used a Piper fast road cam and various other mods which cost me over 2.5K and that was for the bits with me doing the work. If your not going to throw money at it then tbh just make it breathe...
