long shot but have you got a good elec connection on the diesel pump check it with a multimeter failing that take the output fuel line from the deisel pump to the first injector off then turn it over see if it giving enough derv out etc.. let us know everything you checked so far so...

no noticable difference as no defender is comfortable to drive buy a disco or rangey if you want a nice drive. A defender if you want a workhorse thats excellent offroad

if you removed all the fuses then the fault may lay on the main live supply to the fuse board can you get a look behind the fuse board ???
