Do you know what he has actually removed from underneath ? If the back wheels feel wobbly has he removed the back driveshafts as well as the prop shaft ?

    Whats with the different ratios?

I would think the different ratios are because of the different torque outputs of the engine
  10. mackd0001

    reverse gear?

could be your slave cylinder isnt separating the clutch plate enough. usually reverse is 1 of the first gears to be difficult to get when this starts to go

    Snorkel

Come on it wasnt that funny,
  13. mackd0001

    Snorkel

Does anyone have a snorkel fitted to their freelander ? I have the L series engine, I had seen a snorkel for a V6 for sale but surely it shudnt be too hard to modify the air intake to reach it, or is there a universal one that would do it ?

    td4 big problem

you should be able to move it a very short distance at slow speed , wouldnt advise trying to drive it incase it locks up completely, my reapir bill was £1000 for my IRD

    td4 big problem

Sounds just like when my IRD gave up, clonking as if something is grabbing inside the box as the shaft turns.

    Just bought a 98 freelander 2.0d Help!!!

Depends what engine it is, if it is the L series it will have a belt and if it is the TD4 it has a chain
  17. mackd0001

    freelander engine swap.

Think the basic blocks are the same but there will be a lot of other differences between the 2 engines

    Dashboard lights

Dont have those spot lights any more, 1 got broken so fitted a set of smaller ones which are rubbish, leaving them on to cover the holes in the bumper until i get round to doing the facelift to it and get a colour coded bumper and new style headlights
