    Freelander Starter Motor Fixings

Hi, If it's a TD4 the other bolt is on top, 180 deg round and well hidden behind some rubber pipes. The only spanner I can get in there is a short ring spanner so it's a bit tedious. The starter will just come out with a bit of fiddling past the oil cooler pipework. Good luck.

    Rear wiper park switch?

Brilliant! that microswitch when released usually causes the tail-door window to automatically drop down and stay down until the switch is either pressed or the roof refitted. This rear wiper parking issue is obviously something to watch out for in the future. Many thanks for your feedback about...

    Retraction of Brake Piston

Hi, It's important to slacken the bleed nipple on the caliper this reduces the possibility of pushing dirty fluid back up to the ABS modulator. If the piston still won't move even using a large lever, take out the bleed nipple ,It may be blocked. If the piston still won't move try a large...

    Awful noises.. any ideas?

Hi, Sounds very much like a stone is trapped between front left brake disk and its splash guard (do you drive over gravel a lot?) it can usually be sorted by putting something like a long screwdriver through the holes in the alloy wheel and gently pushing the splashguard ( a circular piece of...

    td4 fuel problems

Hi, Poor cold starting followed by white smoke is often caused by glowplug problems but that wouldn't explain the misfiring etc I would make sure the glow plug light on dash is behaving normally and also do the usual 'leak back' check on the injectors.

    Now I need help!

Do you know if I can safely bridge the connections in the plug to the sensor in the pipework? The sensor becomes open circuit when it sees sufficient refrigerant pressure in the AC circuit. So a bit of a quandry: these systems unfortunately don't incorporate the handy 'sight glass' in the drier...
